..so I'll ask here first.
I took a mission where I had to recover some military plans from a system that was about 15 ly away.
Came back with a full cargohold of these plans but could not finish the mission. It said I don't have the mission specific item.
Sold everything on the BM and went back to fill the hold again with plans. I did this about ten times until the mission timer (roundabout 10 hrs) expired.
I'm not complaining since I made like ten times the amount offered in the mission.

Just wanted to know if there is actually a mission specific item and how do I recognize it?

And another one:

The mission where you have to find a downed pilot on a planet. How the F do you find this guy when there are about a gazillion planets in this game and the mission gives no clue as to what planet this guy is supposed to be on. The description only says "Planet". Nice!

Looks like a bug.

In 1.4 and earlier it didn't matter where you obtained the mission cargo, everything was accepted (well, the stolen flag was recognised by the system), now it looks like nothing is accepted...

The escape pod will be in the first or second POI you find on any planet surface. The "occupied escape pods" act as a cargo, and is not mission specific.

Once I found 7 escape pods in one POI. I kept them in my hold, and delivered them for 7 different missions, for several factions, in several systems. Easy money :)
