Ok sorry for noob query but how do you tell A npc from a actual player ??
I mean other than the obvious ones like backer #000 for ex. or cmdr so & so ,
was just curious so I know if its a pvp iam in or a ai attack.

At this moment shallow signatures on radar are players, full signatures are NPCs.

This gonna change in future, but we don't know yet at what extent, most likely you won't be able to tell difference in finished game.

Currently it's super easy, the radar (scanner) shows human players with hollow synbols. In the future... then the answer gets complicated,

As it stands players are shown on the scanner with a hollowed triangle or square. NPCs are the other ones.

Tip: Triangle means ship has its weapons deployed.
