Horizons NPCs are now using Ganking Tactics

I dont see the problem. The fights where I limp back to base are sometimes the most thrilling.

I was cruising in my clipper and got interdicted by a couple of pythons and a cobra i think. Decided to make a pass for s&g's cuz I fig I could outrun em if it got too hot, which it did lol! Even with clipper speed, they shot me up before I could escape. Disabled me 3 times with me doing everything I could to evade. At first I was like :):):), then a grin spread on my face cuz it was just so much fun.

In space, no one can hear you whine

Do you really pref dumb NPCs?? wow this is something new to hear. cmon dude they are trying to do the game less arcade and more realistic and you are complaining about this.. just wow

I was interdicted by a wing of 3.... 2 x Cobra and a DBX. This was in solo play. I don't mind being interdicted when it is one on one, or maybe a couple of sidewinders when I am in my Cobra, but these 3? This is way out of balance.

If you didn't fight the interdiction and boosted while you were spooling up to jump out, they never would have been able to do much more than warm the outside of your shields.

I think it's more a question of wanting a "fair" fight - but that's the problem, we've become conditioned to expect fair fights. It's part of gaming in general. We expect linear progress. We expect the Level 10 NPCs to come out around the time we're level 10, not before.

What Elite needs to be, though, is dynamic, with a wide range of friends, neutrals and enemies you could potentially encounter. SOME weight should be given regarding personal ability (experienced players will want more frequent challenge after all), but it should always be a mix and not scaled to be a fair fight regardless of who you are or what you're in.

Elite DANGEROUS.

Is not that this happens all the time, I had a couple of bad encounters with NPC's as well with my Python that almost costed my ship in the game. Knowing when to engage a wing or not is key when you are playing in solo. (like me)

Sometimes I make mistakes or sometimes there is and should be the element of surprise. If that ends in a death...I'm all for it...but not if it happens all the time. Which as I said before...is not the case.

The AI is still way to easy and never even try to win a fight...
they will interdict you and they stare at you for a long time maybe shoot one or two hits and then turn around you doing everything they can to not actualy hit you

Ai is stupid, that's why i play in open, that is completely the same as solo play but you might see one hollow square every hour if you're in populated space.

This awesome , npc is getting better and better.

ofcourse the solo guys already making treads after treads that their galaxy is dangerous.

and no , never playd a minute solo but open unless you dont have any braincells its impossible to get "ganked" cause of the game mechanics

I think you are confusing 'NPC's are getting better' with 'geez, our RNG (random number generator) is pretty :):):):)-poor chaps, as is the chap / chappette at the head of the mission generation department'.

Almost everything I have read and experienced shows the entire mission structure to be poorly implemented. It doesn't help that the NPC's are not persistent - I mean, where did those gankers come from? They weren't in SC before you dropped on the target right? They just appear, then RNG hits you with a high roll. If the mission bounty actually reflected the level of risk that would be better, but even more immersive would be that you could tail the target and gauge what support he has. Or maybe pay for 'intel' that lets you decide if you are willing to take the risk.

Whats with failing anyway? In real life the person who finishes the bounty gets the cash, the rest get nothing. Why can't multiple people get the same mission? Competition and all. However, since the NPC's are non-persistent and only exist for you I suppose that is out of the question for the moment. Imagine the emergent game-play that could come from that style 'You stole my bounty after I tracked him through 5 systems! Die space maggot!'

Maybe I will check back in another 6 months to see if FD have made any progress towards deeper, challenging, rewarding and believable game-play and have actually added meaningful content to PL.

Catch you in another 6 months or so.
