Guide / Tutorial Nutter’s explorers guide to the Galaxy

awesome... my first long trip and im back... i was worried but only couple interdictions before easy landing. few nice systems -
HIP 18175 - 190,789 CR
HIP 11792 - 122,974 CR
SYNUEFAI LM-T D4-6 - 215,428 CR

worst thing about it is i cant find the most valuable one in the navigation :(

Oh No! - That's why I don't want a sell all button :(

i dont want sell all button... but i want to be able to shift click to mark multiple systems so i can sell less valuable ones as 5-10 at a time...

It would be nice to have some basic filters on the UC window.

Stopping by the pleiades or the taurus dark region? Here's one not to miss, and it's well worth the time to not miss a scan. I won't spoil the surprise.

Taurus Dark Region QT-R B4-0 at -120:-141:-440

TIP: When you are onto a good system write down the Co-Ords from the map too! - That way you can always find it! - Very nice system too!

to late... cant find it... when i type it in it directs me to completly different system... anyway i dont know how to find system by coord. can i type it in or have to manualy go throu map ?

also i take pictures of my favourite systems in navigation view but i dont know why i didnt take screen of this one... i would be able to locat it if i had some close up on the region...

It's Manual, ZOOM in top down and note the grid Co-Ords. The search tool is borked, I raised a ticket 8 Weeks Ago, still at status 'new'

ok thanks.
anyways i got nearly 2,5 mil CR from my trip. and im pretty happy with it.
explorer rank trailblazer now...

hey, is any of you guys somewhere around monkey head nebula, or on way to there? i'll be there probably tomorrow or day after so it would be really cool if we meet and take a picture :).

I've chosen to celebrate truly finding my first Earth-like world by joining the forums and jumping straight into this thread. I actually found an undiscovered Earth-like ridiculously close to civilized space, but I don't personally feel like it was a legitimate accomplishment because the place has surely been explored by more than just myself. Seriously, go look at this place for yourself: Scorpii Sector GR-W c1-13 B. Binary system. The Earth-like revolves around the M star. The place is right smack in the middle of a Federation expansion region and I was stunned to find it. If the search engine borks with you, you can locate it by finding a very nearby system, Rutu, which I know works.

Anyway, a little about myself: I launched myself off the deep end into uncharted space recently in an Adder. Don't you judge me! I've read this thread and just caught up, I know you people have prejudices against my baby! I love this thing, in spite of its short-comings. The exotic cockpit was a surprising thing to see at first, but I quickly adapted and grew to enjoy it. I'm still sporting some military-grade armor because I simply haven't visited a port since seeing that good piece of advice in this thread. I also picked up 3 versions of the crappiest beam lasers, but I'm keeping those because I enjoy a good fight every once in a while. All in all, my ly range amounts to just over 13 light years, which I'm actually quite satisfied with. It makes navigation more challenging and as a result, more fun. Trying to pick my way through gaps between star clusters and wading through terribad M clusters makes things a little more interesting. I expect that to change when I inevitably save up to acquire an ASP, but I'm sure I'll find new ways to have fun simply navigating around.

I found this game thanks to person on another site going on about the exploration factor of this game and that idea is what sucked me in. My expectations have been MORE than me. I'm an explorer to the bone. I scan just about every system I'm in simply for the love of it. I used to even scan the moons of gas giants, but I eventually did away with that once I finally acquired the Advanced Discovery Scanner. Now, I only scan every major planet in the system, UNLESS the system has a majority of awful rocky and/or icy planets. I've also lost the patience spending boatloads of time going out of my way to scan other stars in multi-systems if they're many hundreds of lightyears away. UNLESS they have something decent around them, of course.

And that's me! I hope to have much fun interacting with you guys in this thread.

On the way out from the Heart Nebula I looked back and noticed this
NGC884.jpg
After struggling with the galaxy map for a while I identified it as NGC 884, a good bit below the Heart Nebula. Maybe that's the actual stars for the Heart nebula? I didn't find anything note worthy inside it in the game, just the usual procedurally generated stuff. Anyway turn 180 degrees, dive dive dive. Will investigate tomorrow.

Since I can't seem to find the edit button to edit my introductory post, I suppose I'll have to settle for creating a new one. I want to show off some of my notable finds. I'm still relatively new to the explorative scene, so these may actually be more common than I realize.

Bonkers System #1. I'm sure you guys know to read the chart, but I want to describe it in words anyway because it sounds so ridiculous: That's 3 gas giants, plus 1 ringed icy world circling the ENTIRE trinary system, followed by the star on the bottom revolving around the rest (with planets of its own), followed by the planets adjacent to the top two stars and those two stars finally revolve around each other.

Bonkers System #2. That high metal content planet is more than three times as far from the star than the final icy world. I've never seen an HMC outside of the inner system. After thinking about it for a bit, I suspect it's an extra-solar capture.

Frakking damn it, this place is confusing the living crap out of me. Apologies, guys, for my posting issues. Is there a delete post button somewhere? Not seeing a delete button . . .

Not that I have found. Convention is to use the edit button you could not find to edit the post down to some sort of "oops, move along, nothing to see here".

Yeah, I didn't see the edit button because my status as not being an adbot still hadn't cleared. I'm a rather prolific editor, I have a tendency to miss spelling errors in spite of double-checking my posts. I don't always get all of my thoughts out at the same time, either. Hence why I kinda derped out and spammed. Once again, I'm sorry. This thread deserves better!

Anyway, in order to productively contribute this post towards the goal of the thread, I need to seek out Nutter and Jackie Silver! Their contributions to the explorer demand reputation from me!

i found system where black hole is about 350k Ls from the main star and HMC is another 36k Ls from the black hole.
those are rough numbers since i am not in game atm and cant check exact distances.
system is called HIP 18175

Have been there last week. Clicked F10 only to find few hours and few systems later that the shot was not saved...
The black hole as beautiful. :)

Screenshot_0062.jpg there it is ;) no screenshoot in realtime flight tho :/ woukld also be nice if we could zoom out so can take pic of whole system at once.
