First, let me get this out of the way....

Ok, now serious.

He makes a LOT of excellent points, mainly about communication (are you listening, FD? - lots of good examples of good communication).

He also pointed out the fact that FD seems to be (almost) dead in the water, as far as direction goes. I could tell by the inflection in his voice that he's getting a tad frustrated by a lack of direction AND communication.

I know there are so many doom threads here already that a number of players seem to feel the same way. We got Horizons (and later, Beyond) but it didn't seem to go anywhere - Guardians and Thargoids but you can choose to ignore one or both of them, and that means it makes no real impact on players.

Example: Morrowind. Anyone remember that game? I do. Played it three times. Here was the big thing: There were areas your level 1 or 2 character DID NOT GO. Reason: there were things there that would eat your character alive. We needed that sort of thing here. All those "permit locked" areas - what's there? Should be something deadly. Go there only if you dare (I'm looking at you, COL 70 Sector...). For ED? Nothing. Go to the Pleiades? Sure. Hyperdiced? Just don't carry anything of value and they leave you alone.

ED has SO much potential. I seriously thought that when FD started to concentrate on Planet Zoo and Jurasic World that they were using them as practice for creatures in ED (just throw a different skin on some of those animals and you have MONSTERS). Instead? Nothing.

They gave us both .1 atmosphere landings AND legs. And now 11.1 patches to fix everything that broke when they did it. My personal opinion is that someone bit off more than they could chew and should have just done one or the other first. Legs could have been a separate DLC. I know a lot of us would have gotten it anyway, but legs should have been worked on by itself.

OA has been one of the biggest fanboi of ED that I know of. He tries to be as diplomatic as possible about his opinions. I don't falt him for the frustration that is leaking out of his channel because I know a lot of us have that same frustration with FD. He doesn't want it to fail. I don't want it to fail either. I like flying a spaceship anywhere in the Milky Way. I hope that FD watches his video, maybe picks up on a few (or ALL) of the points OA made and strives to do better.

Don't shoot the messenger. Just my 2¢.

My thoughts exactly. His comments were directed at FD, not at ED, and rightly so.

Say the very same people who engage in witch hunting over a video the maker didn't even post there. Then accuse said videomaker of being a paid shill for another company, which is somehow seen as malicious toward the forum owners.
They also go on some weird crusade to remove his name from the game.


Yeah, I can see the toxicity alright.

Like some, i'm also frustrated by FD's silence. But we've been like this off and on since... well, the start.

I really wish FD would be more open about their plans, and listening to Art i can almost hear his frustration and not being able to be honest and give any sort of real information.

But what to do? All we can do is sit and wait for the news to come, whether its DOOM or positive news.

Well, i suppose we could make memes.

maybe because these people also recognize that there is something wrong with the game but won't admit that it has been caused by FD and therefore they look for someone else to blame? --- just a conspiracy theory.

Nowadays he is doing more harm than good with all the doom he is spitting. Look at the reddit. It is full of new CMDRs posting their stories.

Dont confuse doing harm with stating facts.

There is a problem with FD communication. Shortly after Odyssey it improved but now they are back to where they were.
And a far bigger problem would be if the community would stay quiet and pretend that everything is fine while watching the game falling apart.

They're not ENTIRELY negative, although I'm a bit confused at some of them since he said last year in here that Elite videos were no longer his thing, he'd moved on. It's the clickbaity titles. For example this one is "what the heck is going on with Elite Dangerous?" but the video still itself is a very clickbaity "A SINKING SHIP?" with the obligatory question mark.
