Are you using direct or extended when doing this? Thanks
@ Mad Mike,
"Are you using direct or extended when doing this? Thanks "
I am using extended mode.
So, what is the consensus? Is dual 980s in SLI better than one? Is there *NO* introduced latency due to SLI? I am getting mixed messages here.
For what it is worth, I could have sworn I read a post/article on SLI and Rift and the message was that until VR drivers arrive, it will not work well. (Think it was Carmack stating it, but it's just a vague memory so take it for what it is worth.) That in itself is the entire reason there is just one card in the VR rig at the moment. If someone can make the case for SLI working well, it is definitely something I would want to test both for ED and other stuff.
I am running in SLI and it is flawless
i7 4770K @ 4.6GHz
Asus Maximus VI Extreme-Z87
EVGA GTX 780ti SLI x3, Custom VBIOS
Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 2400MHz, 8GB
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit
Have downsampled to 2560x1440 with all settings up the highest excluding Blur (OFF). I still get some juddering in hyperdrive or as a system is loaded but its only for a split second. Playing in extended mode.
I once tried it with 970 SLI. With the Oculus Rift there is basically no tolerance for more latency. 1 frame is just to much IMO.
I hope that VR SLI from Nvidia will change everything. Any news on that?
