Seems to be out of the window (at the moment, at least), unfortunately. I really enjoyed the streams and the DEV interviews. Is this still the case or is it out the window now?

It seems to me that from EDO release through December they were in "firefighter mode" where they were attempting to get EDO to a point where it was playable. Since then with updates 9, 10, and 11 coming out next week, it seems that they've changed their focus from making the game playable to now providing regular/ordinary performance and optimization updates along with new features. For those of you who play EDO, would you consider it still in crisis mode? From responses I've seen, it sounds like some players still feel it's in crisis mode and others have no problems.
I can't say I've really thought it had big problems since about update 4, although I mostly play in solo these days (the multiplayer attempts did seem to be worse) and I'm not the kind of FPS fiend that can't live without 120 frames per second, so it may be a question of expectations rather than anything else.It seems to me that from EDO release through December they were in "firefighter mode" where they were attempting to get EDO to a point where it was playable. For the individual yes, we all draw our lines in the sand in difference places. The patch 9 changes I described made no difference to me, I'm out exploring, but appeared to be well received.I can't say I've really thought it had big problems since about update 4, although I mostly play in solo these days (the multiplayer attempts did seem to be worse) and I'm not the kind of FPS fiend that can't like without 120 frames per second, so it may be a question of expectations rather than anything else.
That's good to hear! Whether or not they're able to turn their attention to consoles at least EDO is now, as it sounds, in a position where they can do something other than just trying to get it to work. But for the playerbase overall I think patch 9 was the point where Odyssey became something worth buying & playing.
I'm a regular EDO player. i mostly do Odyssey mission and conflict zones, basically loads of killing NPCs at planetary settlements. I play at 1080p on ultra, 60FPS with Ryzen 5600X and Radeon RX 6700XT. So my PC more than powerful enough for the monitor. For me the game runs really well so I'd say we are well away from crisis or firefighter mode. There are some issues, especially if you play in a team, but its not gamebreaking stuff. It seems to me that from EDO release through December they were in "firefighter mode" where they were attempting to get EDO to a point where it was playable. That's a high level gaming PC and at 1080p I would expect any game to run well, even the most demanding.I'm a regular EDO player. i mostly do Odyssey mission and conflict zones, basically loads of killing NPCs at planetary settlements. I've been playing Odyssey since the Alpha with a i5, RTX 2060, 16Gb RAM, SSD, 1080p, and I've been playing mostly well. FPS have been increasing through updates. There's been a couple patches (updates 7 and 8 maybe?) with some lags, but after that the game runs smoothly even in settlements. Maybe not at 60fps in conflict zones or heavy settlements, but it runs well. I think Odyssey is quite polished now. What we need is more content, more mission types, more places to visit on foot and, of course, thargoids. (and ship interiors, or at least the cockpits XD ). FDev was on route to some of these, so let's hope we get it. Anyway, Odyssey is in a good place now. That's a high level gaming PC and at 1080p I would expect any game to run well, even the most demanding.
This didn't age well.We will continue to give open monthly development updates where we discuss WIP content, challenges, the issue tracker and more. We know that the previous levels of detail for the roadmap and developer update have not met expectations, but we are grateful for your patience while we shift and adjust plans, in the face of such clear feedback.
Why not?This didn't age well.
I suppose so, but what is the current wait time for a PS5 from order?I'm sure the game industry knows that those that play games will always want the next generation console so there will be fewer and fewer on last gen gear. With that in mind then the game should be more optimized to the upcoming and newest consoles going forward.
Same feelings here. A good team with a few good programmers could port it to one console at a time, even if its only on next gen.Developers are Incompetent and lazy. I’ll never support FD in anything they produce anymore. Goodby.
Sorry but in the near future at least there is no longer development for console but in the meantime think about spending the money you would have spent on a ps5 on a PCI suppose so, but what is the current wait time for a PS5 from order?
+ I've just got Bloodborne for PS4 as I've never played it, so sticking with 'last gen' for a while, still waiting to give FDev my cash for EDO on consoles!!!
Its sitting in my acc just for this.
Yep there is that, but a PS5 is not £1300-2000 (gaming PC). I thought it was more like £499.Sorry but in the near future at least there is no longer development for console but in the meantime think about spending the money you would have spent on a ps5 on a PC
