If you claim that, it should also imply that Elite is a racing game since Horizons added SRV to the game play

Well... I'm not telling you anything, except pointing out the fact that the majority of Elite players are on PC
And this reflects in the priorities FD has regarding launching the game on various platforms
And it was aimed at the basic premise of this thread (number of consoles sales does not necessarily translates in Elite sales - which seems to be well known by FD marketing specialists, but somehow someone else knows better)

if you want to be specific, i'm third-baked since i play on xb and steam and epic...
But it's also true that i consider my xb account the main and steam/epic alts.
And not at last, i pretty much prefer to play on XB using a controller, on a 50" tv, since i'm a couch potato and i find that experience more comfortable than playing kb/m on a 17" laptop.
However, i dont let that preference to take over and have me going all out and throwing slurs towards FDev or other players - no matter how much i want to see EDO not only being released on consoles, but also getting a native version.

I can’t remember that I’ve been mentioning that console players are the real gamers. For me all the players are the same. No matter if their are on consoles or pc
I can’t speak for other folks but right now there would need to be a solid reason for me to buy Odyssey on console - that being at least one of:
1. Improved stability vs Horizons
2. Improved graphics (4K or Ultra or both @ 60fps)
3. A current-gen native version (which may or not be required to deliver the above)
And that’s broadly in order of preference, I guess.
Note that “on-foot gameplay” is NOT one of those. Sure, it might be fun but that’s not what I want Elite for so any EDO for consoles have to deliver something more as well before I’d drop £40 on it.

Ok and where is the point? Half baked console player half baked pc player ? For me this means, he plays on both, and can choose his Plattform anytime he wants.
anyway, makes no sense to disuss it over and over again. The fact is there are issues with the communication to the consoles, the same issues which was experienced by everyone on elite till the date they decided to split the community.
as so Said, they wouldn’t tell us much, because they don’t have to, holy moly, half a year ago it seems to be a very huge problem for everyone, it’s easy to bring this argument, when you’re not affected.

Half baked is usually a derogatory term since it implies something that is not finished or not complete

so let me clear few things out. I’m totally in love with the franchise elite, this game was for me a good hobby, shut down the real world meet some cool peoples, discuss over astronomical things. I can remember how hard I fought against critics which was directed to elite and Fdev, cmdr nimizima can agreed with that, in the German forum they shouted on me carebear, it’s take a lot to bring an total fan of this franchise to this points. Much of my squadron are moving forward to other games, because our main reason (bgs) didn’t work as it should since EDO arrived. All my whishes is to get in line with our guys on pc to plan our next step, but suddenly it’s harder then ever.
for me Elite was the last game which was a good solution to spend time with nice peoples und do stuff together, get our next system, stay on diplomatic touch with other squadrons, fights PvP wars for a system.
the point is, beside all Love I have for this game, it’s sad to see that our squadron running out of fuel, and naturally the pc players change there directions to other squadrons.
and to bring the argument they have a plan but they don’t have to tell you what, isn’t quite the right way. When I would be really pessimistic, then that means for me as an example, hey they know that the game wouldn’t come to consoles but let people pay arx, and then the big worst cases come true ? Shouldn’t be the way they thinking and I think that isn’t the true intention.
and to clear minds up, they should care about some issues on consoles too, this would be a good sign, perhaps to bring some long term problems in line. Or give us solutions for problems.
Indeed - and if you split PC up by hardware (Intel vs AMD CPUs and NVidia vs AMD graphics cards) then the groups would start to look far more even, yet more-and-more developers are spending time optimising games for specific CPU or graphics card features.

XB recorded a raise in player base when ED was added to the game pass.
But really really not as much as the spike PC got when ED was given for free on Epic
And again i doubt they're doin optimization based on NVidia / AMD.
The AMD FSR stuff is platform agnostic
It could have been sort of true if they'd enabled NVidia DLSS - since that would imply an NVidia specific usage scenario, but we're not there.

well, then Fdev must be lying again because it was their numbers that said console was over a 3rd of the player base before it was free on game pass. maybe stop being a PC Gatekeeper making up "your own truths" to match your bias.

Anyway, before it was "free" on gamepass they gave 8 millions accounts for free on Epic.
That was ontop of the 4 millions accounts sold before that on all platforms (Frontier, Steam, XB and PS)
And, i'm not even a PC Gatekeeper, whatever you may imply with that.
Just being grounded and not living in a self-entitlement cloud even tho I purchased an XB1S 3 years ago for the sole purpose of playing ED as a couch potato i am.
I think it’s important to criticize and call out the issues. We’re allowed to share opinions, but he’s also right that criticism has been frowned upon since day one of this game. Especially on these forums. Tbh I think a lot of the mods feel the burn now too though, after all these years of watching a very slow development train wreck.
well good for you, the rest of us that had ED from day one want access to the game they supported for years and the company benefitted from it. the company is falling, it has no respect among the console community anymore and they need to start doing better. if ship interiors can be talked about every week on their show so can the console version. at this point, you are coming across as a troll trying to get a rise out of console players. your point would have been valid 2 months ago but now it is just a disgrace. if you can spend money and time adding new content that isn't essential whilst not working on the console version, then Fdev needs to priorities what they are doing. Look at what NMS has done in a quarter of the time. they went from being a joke to mike dropping Fdev with their frontier update across all systems (same day) and added everything Fdev had promised and more (with fewer developers).ive seen that.
From that report are the 8 million Epic accounts and the 4 million everything else, but i really dont remember the mention regarding one third being consolers

You mean refusing to release a bad producl on Console and repeat the mistake they did with rushed release of Odyssey on PC?
That seems to be due to an overestimation of JWE2 sales happening over slow sales for Odyssey.
While there is no defense for Odyssey, JWE2 seem to be a nice game with a successful launch.
But since Jurassic World: Dominion was postponed for next year, that placed FD in a really bad spot since they really felt the lack of marketing and the lack of hype Jurassic World: Dominion would have built if it launched this year as planned initially.
At this point, they really dont need another borked Odyssey release.
So i'm glad they're taking the time to make it work
