ANNOUNCEMENT Official Twitch Stream

Afraid gonna be out at a service, it is Easter after all. So here are a few of my questions.

We've seen support for many input devices, what further support can we expect especially for people with visual or physical disabilities?

Since this is an anniversary year do they expect to see a release the game commercially (even if like Minecraft its still in development) to celebrate the games original release?

The forums carry a lot of evident passion for the game. Given this is the case how have Frontier felt about being on the other end of such high expectations and managing such evident expectation that often come rapidly after every announcement?

One last question, there suddenly seems a explosion of procedurally based games and space sandbox type games coming on the back off Elite Dangerous, how will Frontier seek to make sure Elite Dangerous stands out from the crowd?

Ok I think that is more than enough questions, not trying to be controversial, just interested to know how folk there genuinely feel about some of these things. Personally I've no axe to grind, but am aware of huge expectations that seem evident on the forums and interested to know what Frontier think. Although discretion being the better part of valor, you might feel unable to answer some of my questions. But nothing ventured...

Look forward to catching up on the reruns later.

Happy Easter

Question/Request:

During the KS David showed off early prototype tech for generating clouds procedurally. Could you give us a peek at some other prototypes that has been made internally over the years?

A while back someone on this forum describe being at a event several years ago where David showed off some tech that generated avatars "procedurally", or at least their heads. Maybe something like that? :)

question over the questions (and before the starting show):

are you allowed to talk about future incoming things or only about the single player combat ?

Ship Management in Single Player Combat

Demonstrate how management of various systems before and/or during a mission can affect ship performance and possibly outcome of combat?

For instance, if as much energy as possible is devoted to rear shields while being pursued by AI, how does this translate into survival time versus a standard configuration? Interesting for when the damage model is more specific and let's say my beam laser is taken off-line and I need to make a run for it in a starting scenario. Will the AI also be making these system management calls such that we could see a shield suddenly regenerate faster but the AI opponent stop returning fire?

Demonstrate advantages and disadvantages of fire-groups of differing load-outs and how easy it is to switch between them with mapped keys/switches on control sticks. Again, can we expect AI to make these types of management decisions 'on the fly' during combat?

What complexities does dealing with turrets introduce? Is FA Off mode and strafing more important in these scenarios?

How much difference will there be between Alpha damage models and Beta, if any? Will players be able to take advantage of targeting sub-systems in preparation for boarding or asking for surrender of cargo without popping the entire ship ? Or is that planned for a post-release enhancement?

Elite Dangerous Official Livestream

So looks like Frontier will be officially streaming some gamplay tommorrow night at six on Twitch.tv, link is supplied at the bottom of this post.

Please Frontier, let me see supercruise ;)

Seriously though, does anyone think this will be them showing off some alpha 4 footage? Other streamers have covered the other content regularly so it would make sense to go back over all of it again, or are they just going to show off their piloting skills?

Question:

First thing for a new player to do when testing (single player) scenarios, is getting a feel for the manoeuvering and getting acquainted with the controls. I needed to customize the controls to have them to my liking, and I can only assume the same goes for other players.

Will you be adding the option to export (several) control settings (eg. to an xml file) and reloading them, any time soon during the testing phase?

Don't ask me. Seems really pointless.

They'll be answering questions live and directly interacting with the community a little bit... 'snot a bad thing. :) Although I'm sure we'd all have loved it much more if they'd been previewing features we haven't seen yet!

Let's just hope they don't "miss" the interesting questions though. ;)

I kind of get why they choose to stream the single player scenarios. It's stable. :D

Anyway, who knows, maybe they have an easter egg in there somewhere with a quick peek of something. :)
