[OOC] Roleplayer Offering Comm Service

Hello Fellow Pilots,

I have spent some time in the last few months seeking roleplayers. All I have managed to find were people playing in private groups, in small areas, and using outside services like Discord to communicate. But, I am not personally willing to sacrifice the unpredictability of Open Play, nor would I want to limit myself to a smaller area of play.

Since I cannot find a large group of roleplayers in open play, I would like to offer myself to YOU!

I have not been online since prior to 2.2, as I am rebuilding my cockpit ATM. I am nearly done and should be flying again soon (about 1-2 weeks hopefully)

During this downtime, please feel free to add CMDR Boyan as a contact in-game. If CMDR Boyan is in open play and responds to your hail, it will always be in character.

There is only one rule to roleplaying with me, and its the only rule that matters IMO: Always communicate by voice and in character. (unless text is requested for coordinates and spelling clarification)

Please help me spread the word if you know others interested in roleplay. IMO, there's nothing more immersion breaking than hailing another ship and hearing, "Yo! What's up?!"

If you have any further questions, advice to build more roleplay connections, etc... Please feel free to share.

There are usually some good text-based roleplays going on at http://inara.cz/board
You have a rule for in-character voice comms only? I wouldn't dream of inflicting my character "in person" on anyone! :D

Good luck with finding interest, anyway :)

Feel free to add me. Cmdr M. Volgrand :). I'm actually doing a run to Colonia, but I'll be happy to chat with you.

There are people I'd love to have RP only interaction with in game (I don't have voice coms so no risk of family having me sectioned), way back when I used to play EvE a few of us had an RP only coms channel which worked really well.

Hey! Coming back to E:D after more than a year of break and also to RP (and continuing my story). I will happily add CMD Boyan and then find an in-game reason to RP together.

Well, here I am 3+ months after the last post to say... I DIDN'T KNOW YOU PEEPS EVEN RESPONDED! Apparently I didn't have notifications on for this thread and gave up after the first month.

Now that I'm getting a little more time to play, I figured I'll make this post for two reasons...

1. A healthy bump to let you guys know I'm still available to you.

2. To clarify something...

You do not need to go out of your way to contact me and I will not go out of my way to contact you. None of us NEED to make up reasons to RP together. I'm simply providing my comms to you as someone you can be confident will speak in character so as not to break immersion. The most important aspect (I feel) about what I'm offering is that there are no limitations and only 1 rule: When you're on voice comms with me, simply act like you're really there and really in the situation you describe. That's it. Simple.

Oh, I guess there is one more rule...

It needs to be Voice Comms because I'm playing in VR and typing is a pain in the in my current rig. Sorry.

If you want me available for voice comms, please feel free to add CMDR Boyan. I look forward to meeting you.

EDIT: One more thing. I see some concern over your characters. I don't care if your character is loud or obnoxious or rude or stern or difficult. Of course, I prefer a calm atmosphere, but if all of our characters were the same in scope, it would be pretty boring RPing with anyone in any game if we were all the same, right? ;)
