Open Letter to FD 2 from the community

I think @TheSynopticVision's point isn't that some community platforms don't offer help, more that some contributors can be intentionally unhelpful (and topic derailing) at times.

You missed his point.

It wasn't that some community platforms don't offer help but that Frontier Forums, specifically the players that post here, are a particularly bad bunch when compared to other places like Reddit, Facebook, or Discords. My point is one shouldn't throw stones from glass houses. I've heard plenty of legit criticism of Reddit, Facebook, and various Discords but you don't see me slagging their posters off on their own boards, do you?

Everywhere has it's virtues and issues. Arguing a pecking order is stupid.

The only pms I get are beluga pictures from @Rick6549 and essays from @Red Anders. What do I have to say and do to get messages telling me to off?

/r/EliteDangerous has a new Q&A Post stickied everyday to help new/returning/current players with their questions about the game. Each daily thread receives 200+ comments.

I don't personally access the Elite Dangerous Facebook group much (hardly ever tbh), but I've heard that they're helpful there too.

The help threads here on forums are generally useful as well, so I don't see the issue with them overall.
That was very diplomatic :)

From my lurking on the forum I've seen much more assistance offered to requests for help than derision, maybe I don't read enough?

Even the mighty Phisto (even before I made in-game friends with him) gave useful advice to some of the questions I asked before I became corrupted... I'm not that far removed from a newbie, even now I'm finding out things I had no idea how to approach.

Most of the knowledge of the game I have has been gained by helpful people - and even includes a few that are considered 'bad guys' or 'trolls'. Now I'm fortunate enough to be able to share the wisdom gained here with another friend, and hope that, later in the game that he 'pays it forward' too.

Looks like the threat got derailed.

I can not support Bigmaecs open letter in it's current state.

I propose 2 changes:
1st: change the bubblehead to another one to don't upset the LEPs. Let's say make it an African swallow, ehm snowflake, instead of an European.
2nd: integrate it with free Arx generation. For example, if I sent "Snowflake" in an direct message, don't want to spam local chat, to another CMDR and he/she/they have one both get an ARX.
