Thanks for a super game that I still enjoy playing. No, really. There’s a lot of negativity on this forum, and with each passing day a new thread with a passive aggressive dig at you is posted.

From the perspective of this commander, everything is peachy. I don’t see the bugs some people claim are making the game unplayable. In fact I can play the game nearly every day - baby duties permitting.

Every evening, I log on after prepping a nice cup of chamomile tea. I play a few missions, maybe hunt some Thargoids, or just goof around. It’s all good with me.

Can’t say I’m that bothered about Fleet Carriers so when they come they come and I’m sure it’ll be fun and new to try out. Haven’t missed Galnet much. Didn’t even notice it and CG’s were no longer a thing. I’m a commander, always will be. And I just have fun playing the game the way I want to.

Speaking of which. The things I want to do include visiting the Thargoid bases and get more involved with my player faction in the BGS - but I never seem to have the time. It’s a wonder they haven’t thrown me out yet 😊

So, like so said, all is peachy. When the big update drops I know it’ll be great and if there are some teething problems - well, these things happen. Oh, and I’d also happily pay good money for future updates and ARX. The way I see it, thirty quid paid over four years ago for a game I still play daily seems almost extortionately unfair. In the meantime if I get bored playing I‘ll probably go for a walk or spend time with my family - because that’s what adults do.

So, yeah. All good here. Love the game. Love you all at FDev. Thanks for a fantastic experience and keep up the good work.

Why does no one ever post a closed letter? or an open jiffy bag? I always find an Amazon package nice to open. Even more so why don't we ever see a formal address to Frontier? It's almost as if CMDRs assume Frontier will only read a thread if they're invited too? I'm sorry I'm being a bag. I did like the bit where you said about no negativity then carried on saying you don't care about fleet carriers. I'm going to be quiet now and grab my first coffee of the day as I've been at work 40 minutes already.

The most exclusive are those closed letters that are never sent. Sometimes they are not even written, lingering in the realm of possibility, a line between two thoughts, in a dream, about tabby cats or such thing. I believe there are some letters like that somewhere, and I'm adamantly waiting for response from CM team, even though I'm not sure about the contents of such letters. They could have been about baseball caps, rainbows, or tabby cats, I'm really not quite sure, as they could change with time (and by weather probably).

I think more people would be happy and satisfied with the current state of Elite if Frontier didn't talk about all kinds of exciting stuff during the KS that's still nowhere to be seen five years later. They created all kinds of expectations that couldn't be fulfilled.

And I know they never used the word promise, so please let's not get into that tedious discussion again. In the end it was them who created those expectations.

I think the game's great :) It's as stable as it's ever been, some of it's still a bit clunky but I play at least as much as I ever have & my experience meeting players in the game doesn't really line up at all with what I read on the forum.

I have over 8,000hrs played according to the in-game counter and like the OP, there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.

I have little interest in fleet carriers but hopefully there will be some QoL stuff along with it, I am very much looking forward to finding out what FDev have to say about the premium stuff mooted for the end of the year though.

On the one hand I've save a couple of £100 on the games I haven't bought since buying ED, on the other I don't want a subscription service, on the last hand (bloody cloning errors) I want to make sure this game continues for as long as possible.

If there was a one off 'fund ED for the next 10 years' type kickstarter, Id pay just to make sure. More than happy to pay for DLCs. Never happy to pay for cosmetics or less annoying voices but no need to now at all I can just save them up.

It's refreshing to see a bit of positivity on these forums!

ED is a very good game. Like most games, particularly those following the "live service" model, it has its fair share of problems and clearly FDev has made compromises in order to appeal to a wider variety of tastes and playstyles. But the way some people react to these issues, you'd think FDev had killed their dog or something.

I haven't played in about a year and just picked up the game on PC. I've had a blast starting from scratch again but now that I'm moving up in the universe I've noticed all kinds of nerfs that are just ruining the game and making me not want to play anymore. It's no wonder Elite is pretty much...
