It's refreshing to see a bit of positivity on these forums!

ED is a very good game. Like most games, particularly those following the "live service" model, it has its fair share of problems and clearly FDev has made compromises in order to appeal to a wider variety of tastes and playstyles. But the way some people react to these issues, you'd think FDev had killed their dog or something.
FDev killed a dog?!?! PETA will be making an open post SoonTM. 🐶

Here it is. Although FDev might have a bit of trouble trying to read what i wrote.

to me, it's interesting to come back to the game and then a little later to the forums. you play the game, you enjoy it of course. then you go to the forums to discuss, ask questions or give suggestions. then you start to see these doomsayer posts and you start to wonder... are we playing the same game? or, are you even playing the game?

sure, the game's not perfect and there's endless potential to make it better. but overall i'm quite happy with the game.

So, he posted an open letter to tell everyone their problems and complaints aren't legitimate because he hasn't had to deal with them... And that all complaints are stupid. That is not a logical way to deal with things. It's literally part of the real problem.

great letter! I can complement it, in fact, the elite is a great game, and by releasing updates fdev can ruin it.
and therefore, it will be wise on their part to stop making updates for her, and focus on developing other games.:giggle:

Which open letter are you talking about?

'to tell everyone their problems and complaints aren't legitimate'

?

I think more people would be happy and satisfied with the current state of Elite if Frontier didn't talk about all kinds of exciting stuff during the KS that's still nowhere to be seen five years later. They created all kinds of expectations that couldn't be fulfilled.

And I know they never used the word promise, so please let's not get into that tedious discussion again. In the end it was them who created those expectations.

Maybe frontier pulled a Sean Murray .
But will Frontier pull another Sean Murray and actually delivery...eventually.

I beg to differ. Agreed, the game itself is fine, but not everything is "peachy".

My beloved Elite baseball cap has seen better days, and I'm holding a fistful of cash to throw at the store for a new one. Alas, old mother Hubbard, and all that.
