wow...
As a user of hcs voicepacks, and also a user of VR, this is one of those tools that adds to the immersion....
Yes id prefer voicepacks than the 3rd party tool...but hey, its a beta...its early days....
Why aren't FD all over this with their own version/implementation?
Hell, man, how many hours a week do you play?Great work on this program, I love it! However using only for npc and with the downloaded pack I ran out of credits in 2 weeks.
I liked that french girl voicing the police. I'd submit to her scan any day. Personally I would prefer if Frontier got people to actually voice the NPCs though. Maybe then they would realize how strange some of their dialogue is and make it not so corny.
Priorities and all that though right.
Wow you are genius, this is something that should of been in the game from launch, take note Frontier.
I will definitely be giving this a try, when I back in the bubble. At the moment about 20K LY out in the black and not much chance running into any NPCs.
However, how come FDEV can't put this stuff into their own game?
This solution uses a private developer account aimed at testing integration into products. It would vastly improve their game and could be simply sold as a DLC (like Horizons season pass, or ship customization and whatnot) with royalties going to the guys who developed it.
Because the aim of Elite was/is to pilot your ship, not speak commands. It's not in the game for the same reason it's not part of any other gameSame with VoiceAttack.
Why is VoiceAttack not integrated into the game itself with a simple in-game way to set it up?
[/quote]That all said... FDEV already added traffic controllers with voice... so how hard could it be to do the same for the NPC chat? NPC's only have like 5 lines of text anyways... "Useless dreg" anyone?
Hell, man, how many hours a week do you play?I've been using this with two accounts since this thread started and I still have 6000+ free credits left, although to be fair one of those accounts has been exploring until very recently and so hadn't seen a lot of NPC activity.
It almost sounds as though your setup might not be saving and re-using the generated audio, but re-requesting it each time. Certainly things like the cruise ship announcements and civil war transmissions get re-used a lot and so should be free once they've been generated and saved.
Or maybe you're just playing 18 hours a day.![]()
Caching is by default and AFAIK there's no way to override it. The instruction page warns against installing in a UAC protected folder, and that's about the only other thing I can think of that might cause files not to be written. If your installation is not UAC protected then I'm stumped. Is there a setting or anything to enable/disable saving this cache? I only downloaded the sample pack and changed the volume, have not altered any other settings.
