Modes Open seeming terribly safe these days?

I've been trading in a T-9 recently around Shinrarta. This used to be quite a dangerous activity in open and I used to enjoy the buzz of running the gauntlet of gankers and escaping them etc. But open seems to be basically as safe as solo these days and there's quite literally nothing that can kill you as a trader. Is this everyone's experience since C+P or am I just getting freakishly lucky?

Oh and by the way, has C+P dealt with the issue of people getting others killed by the station using suicidewinders? I haven't seen that happening in a long time but I can't see what in the C+P rules prevents it. I must admit, I'm not sad to see the end of that since that seemed like such an exploit. It did keep me under the speed limit though, lol.

While I cannot dispute this in any way, my huge friend's list is pretty much constantly offline. I think I saw about 8 of them online last night.

The larger discord channels do not show many people playing, relative to the number of people online.

The underwhelming Thargoid Narrative, Copy Pasta CGs and game bugs are certainly not helping.

But everything will be fine.

A particularly effective C&P change has taken place: School Holidays are over.

So have all the dangerous activities literally gone? Or are they just happening in other places were people don't mind having a bounty? I've read the C&P rules a few times now but I'm still not sure I fully understand them. They seem to have gone too far and just removed all danger from the game.

Yeh.. I suspect the open crowd is changing rather than shrinking.. Overall though it may be a net loss to the game, people are all coming out of mobius I guess. But those players already had a place to go in the game. The PVPers have nowhere left to go. I'm not even really a PVPer (although I've dabbled in the past), I just liked the danger.

I think its more likely waves of notoriety are on cooldown because of ganking taxi ships in shinrarta - im still seeing plenty of pvpers around. Maybe they are new faces, i dont know.

Well.. I was wondering if it was just that Shinrarta has become super safe because noone wants to mess up their rep in that system. If that was all it was, I'd be ok with it.

I'm tempted to stay in open to for the foreseeable future to see what happens.

No wonder I get stuck everywhere..
And it takes 2 hours to upload a 8 minute video..!

Gonna ring my ISP and whinge tomorrow.
Might even change ISPs. Sky has been horrendously unreliable since I moved house.

Only if you renewed that contract with them that finishes in October (last October if 12 months, the previous one if 24 months), if they auto renewed it it's not a contract as you didn't agree to it. Get in touch with an ombudsman, they'll back down quickly enough (probably offer you a great deal if you stay).

Im in open nowadays....seen a few but only around busy areas...rest of the time its just deserted and I dont see other players fer weeks at a time, even though I hangout around one the best mission hubs in the empire. Bout half the players I meet try and kill ye but very rarely talk unless to throw out insults, and the other half seem none too concerned with chatting and most times just vanish without even so much as an o7.

Open may well be friendly in certain areas at certain times, or it may not, I honestly dont know because Ive never actually seen an example of it, just read about it here. So far all Im seeing is an extremely anti social game where most players either treat it as a single player game or COD...not seeing any middle ground so to speak and honestly not seeing how its better than solo. Its a veritable ghost town ^

I've been none stop pirating people at the trade CGs for the last couple days in open.

I've never been much of a fan of Sky Broadband but surely even they can't sell anyone contracts with an upload speed of 0.02mb/s! Surely its time to log a ticket with them?

ps. I've just spent the last week removing the last vestiges of SkyQ wifi from my house after the Sky Engineers visited to upgrade me, and told me that SkyQ prefers Wifi to fixed wire Ethernet............ make of that what you want!

I was on sky broadband fer two years...without a doubt the worst ISP in the UK bar none and Ive been using the internet since the days of the old 56k modems that used to disconnect if someone used a landline in the house.

Only time ye get the speeds ye pay for is between midnight and 6 in the morning...random disconnects at the rate of about two or three times a day...the worst customer support that took ages to get through to only to end up talking to a machine and using multiple choices on yer keypad.

Been on BT infinity this past year and absolutely love it...disconnects are rare and even during peak times, Im getting very healthy and stable connections. Costs a couple quid more but I get the whole TV package too...dont recommend the TV package though, its utter keek but the broadband is second to none. Even during the busiest peak time, my connection rarely dips under 30mb.

Now if ye could mix sky tv and BT broadband, that would be just perfect because BT TV is an unmitigated disaster...I had to have another external aerial fitted just to get a signal and yes it was a requirement at the time otherwise no TV at all past yer basic 40 channel freeview ^

Traffic reports seem to be the same everywhere, in fact I was surprised to see 4000+ ship movments in Robigo over the last 24 hours. Can't say I have noticed anything different in open around Shinrata, it is actually quite rare to get into any trouble around there except for in Beta or after patches go live.

Bunda seems to be quiet though, I was there for well over a week in a Chieftain, was just as chilled as Mobius.

Edit - Did Bunda recently switch? Just checked and it's not showing as Anarchy anymore.
