Operation Enigma, breaking the code!

Wow. My reply simply stated that forum members are off topic.
Also its not up to me to tell others what to do nor am i trying to do that.
I am simply stating this.
ED will be around for a long time. Whilst trading mindlessly might be fun right now for some.. I doubt it will have the same appeal in lets say two or three years time.
I am simply suggesting that players will either move on and play something else or they might and i stress might... move on within the game which will likely be shooting.. Afterall why do u trade? To get credits.. And what will you do with them.. Buy big ships and guns.
So i am saying that is some twisted way that players will be happy the code is out there for them to shoot at and keep their conscience clean.
Anyone may end up shooting at the odd player.
So asp explorer i am not telling anyone anything.. I am simply suggesting it.

A statement is not a suggestion, but it doesn't really matter. People will play the game they want to. You might get to play with them, you might not, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Are some of the posters getting a little off topic?
Isn't the OP trying to gain support for a little solo mode undermining when minor factions is launched.?
Personally if u want to gain support against the code have the guts to do it face to face.. Afterall if you think about how many players there must be available for opposition then the code is outnumbered on a massive scale!
Are we so scary that you must do it in exploit mode... Erm um I mean solo mode.
Personally for those undermining i would like to shoot them rather than try to run faster on the hamster wheel.
And just a little food for thought...
Those who oppose pvp...
When you have traded and traded and traded and then traded some more and you have gazillions of credits.. What are you gonna spend your cash on? A new car? Nope. A holiday? Nope. A new house? Nope.. Oh yes.. I forgot its a game.. Perhaps you might spend your hard earned credits on a combat fit python or anaconda.. Then what will u do? Yup a good ole bit of npc bashing.. Then when u get bored of that.. Yes my friends you will turn to the dark side and shoot other players for one reason or another.
So you will either mindlessly kill others.. But you can thank the code for the fact you can enjoy your nice combat fit python and keep your conscience clean and kill us baddies.
Other than that you will likely get bored buy a new game and move on.
There is no long term gratification in trading.
That is unless years of mindless grinding is your thing. In which case i suggest u get help.

I do admit I love the irony at a code member saying to have the guts to face them face to face when you look at the modus operandi that was displayed by code. And the comment about those who enjoy grinding needing help, but not thinking those who psychopathic mindlessly kill others need help is also telling.

All this post was, a self justification for bad actions.

No - you told people to get help - over a computer game.

As if chasing pixels around the screen pretending to blow up imaginary things in imaginary space is somehow superior to chasing pixels around the screen to deliver imaginary things to imaginary space stations.

Go back and read it - in case you've forgotten.

:D

I think you are getting a bit off topic here. The animosity against Code is not because they play pirate or like PvP. Nobody has any problem with pirates and PvP.

The animosity against Code is because they spoilt what was obviously meant to be a bit of fun because they did not approve of it. The self-importance and conceit is staggering. Who are they to tell Frontier, or other players, how the game should be played? THAT is what people have been angry about.

And now you want to dictate how players should express their disapproval of Code. Hang on, was Code not using their gameplay tactics to express disapproval? If that is a valid way to express your ire, why can't other players use their own gameplay tactics to express theirs?

What goes around, comes around dude.

"Travel across Europe as king of the road, a trucker who delivers important cargo across impressive distances! Release Date: Jan 16, 2013

what is the game... Transporting goods from one place to another... game came out over 2 years ago and is still going strong.

Your assertion that in "some twisted way" people are happy the code is out there is crap. You are trying to desperately find ways to justify your actions and make yourself feel legitimate.

There really is more to do in ED then just Trading or mindless shooting at players. Trust me!

You are entirely missing the point.
People will play the game the way THEY want, just like you.
They will enjoy the game how they see fit, just like you.
And what you think about what they should do or not is irrelevant just like the rest of us.
They will adapt and overcome any situation, again, the way THEY want within the current game rules and settings, in any game mode available.

You can like it or not, you can also completely ignore them or not.
At the end of the day it does not really matter.

I love mountain bike riding. I am always trying to go as fast as I can, as long as I can as high as I can.
I am always counting how many km I am riding in a day, in a week, in a month, in a year...
Yes, I am grinding kilometres figures !

Do you suggest I should get some help too ?

;)

What really matters is that we should all have fun playing the game Frontier intended us to play.

@ ianw. I went back just in case i forgot.. And i read it. I stated.. "in which case i suggest you get help" i must stress that suggest means its a suggestion.. and the definition of suggest is to " put forward for.consideration " or " cause one to think." etc to suggest is NOT by any means TELLING. may i kindly suggest you check a dictionary ;-)

You do realize that while you did not tell them to get help, by suggesting it you did tell them they needed help...

Okay - so you "suggested" people get help - over a computer game. Were you "afraid" to "tell" them? Does "fear" affect the way you post? Is that why you "suggested" it instead of just outright saying it?

My other question still stands - do you think chasing pixels around the screen pretending to blow up imaginary things in imaginary space is somehow superior to chasing pixels around the screen to deliver imaginary things to imaginary space stations?

and for any unintentional offence caused.. i apologise as it is not my intention to offend.

- - - Updated - - -

nope.. i suggested it because if you "TELL" someone or have an opinion other don't like you get moderated.

Really, why not come and enjoy CQC ? It's a lot of fun !

Let's do this the PVP way for once ! ;)

Oh and i do have an opinion with this....

i do not think that solo mode should have an effect on open mode.
i think that the two should be completely separate.
technically if i am in a fight with a person and they then log off then go into solo mode then to a station then fly back reload then jump back to the system log back in then back into the fight i was in then come and kill me as they have fully reloaded without consequence is as good as an exploit. in fact it smacks of cheating. i have never ever known a game where the two are mixed and influence each other.
people are exploiting solo to gain in open.
and the fact solo players can undermine open players and i cannot attack the solo players coming into the system i am trying to protect in open is plain ridiculous and again although it is within the game mechanics you could call it an exploit. a legal one.

that is my opinion.
many share it.
if that offends others then i apologise in advance.
please note i said "could" call it an exploit i in no way stated it WAS an exploit!

this is not off topic. the OP stated he wanted to gain numbers to undermine CODE in solo mode. and he reiterated SOLO mode.
like i said no offence intended but that doesn't sit right with me. IMO.
like i said ... its an OPINION. i am not stating or telling or demanding.

that is an issue with the player NOT with the mode. Which is interesting because it was reported here that supposedly a Code member did just that to repair their ship during the Hutton CG.

Yeah, a bit like Code "moderated" the CG that they didn't like. :p

But yes, all computer gaming improves with booze. I never got past level 3 on Encounter when sober, but after a few glasses of wine I could make it to level 12.
