Operation: Eyes in the Dark - A DSSA Deployment Event

Greetings CMDRs,

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing Operation: Eyes in the Dark, my slightly tongue-in-cheek name for my deployment operation for DSSA Seeker Of Dreams. I recently had the honour of being called up to replace a retiring carrier in Trojan Belt, and as such am preparing to take my carrier out there.

As this is a replacement operation, in terms of timescale I will be getting underway somewhat ASAP, which does mean a bit of short notice! See below for details of the operation:

Scheduled Departure from Cupinook: Saturday 27th November
Scheduled Arrival in Phae Auscs SP-E c25-1 (approx 35kLy from Sol): Saturday 12th December

The plan is to jump for a couple of hours every day (longer at weekends), with a different PoI to stop at each night, the full list can be found on the EDSM route here. There will be a couple of free days (or makeup days if life gets in the way). We will also stop by a number of other DSSAs en route!

I will primarily be running this out of FleetComm discord (link here), look for channel #operation-eyes-in-the-dark under DSSA Deployment Events. A channel for the carrier has also been requested in FCOC.

If anyone would like to tag along for a spontaneous trip across the galaxy, comment below, on discord, or message me in some way!

The carrier is now fueled up and ready to go!

Full expedition plan is now live! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vHbqsBbukMSghi38qAh_M9i75AfaL6-7GCXxCYC4sPA/edit?usp=sharing

Hi CMDR! Welcome aboard!

In terms of the DSSA, the forum thread is here but to give you a brief summary, it's an array of fleet carriers that are positioned in the far reaches of space on a full time basis to be able to provide assistance to a passing CMDR. In terms of deployment, we'll be passing through a number of interesting pre-existing PoIs, but as we get further from the inhabited 'bubble', there'll be a lot of opportunities for exploration in pristine parts of space. Particularly around the end destination, it's a lot of unexplored territory! If you like mining as well, then fleet carriers run on tritium, and while I'm full at the moment, I'll be using up something like 10k tons which could be topped up is you wish (entirely voluntary, there's enough in the tanks to get us there!)

See you in the black CMDR

Great then, heading to Cupinookfrom the void now to get a mining gear...

Thank you CMDR! It is very much appreciated
I've parked my Alt Cmdr Frog's Uncle on board with a T9 miner, a T6 cargo shuttle, and a Cobra for a little exploration once you're on station. Shout up if there's anything I can help with, otherwise I'll be taking a nap until we reach the camp site :)

Sounds great CMDR! Love the cobra as an explorer. Should be all set for a nice snooze. Jumps will start 2100 in game time at weekends, 2300 on a weekday and jump non-stop until the waypoint for that day, should you want to take in the sights on the way :)

Today's the day CMDRs! In a few hours time, DSSA Seeker Of Dreams will depart Cupinook on her maiden voyage.

For anyone wishing to come along, there is a carrier currently nearby to the deployment system that is offering rides back to anyone who wants them. This has the basic 'RRR' facilities, but does not have shipyard/outfitting, so can only accommodate one ship per CMDR on the way home.

End of Day One! The carrier has successfully made it to NGC 6188 Sector LC-V c2-28, where it will remain until 2100 in-game time on Sunday. Plenty of sights to take in in this area, including the beautiful NGC 6188 nebula, and Morgan's Rock asteroid base. There's also mining and combat activities in the vicinity should you be so inclined!

Visited Morgan's Rock to sell the 20t of water and fish I'd inadvertantly brought along, made a handsome 8k profit, but was caught by the charity workers on the way out and ended up donating 6MCr to ease the plight of the poor pirate-harassed locals. Bought a piece of asteroid with googly-eyes on it labelled "A gift from Morgan's Rock".
Also visited the two atmospheric worlds and got some selfies with the local wildlife. All in all, 4 out of 5 stars.

Heh, they'll get you like that! Tourist traps, the lot of them!

Jumps are now underway for today's leg, for the next ~3 hours or so, before arriving at tonight's rest stop/PoI.

Damn I though on sundays the departure will be at 23 IG...now I lost my ride ... so sad
Oh no! Would you like to catch up? I can hold at the current system, I'm about 2000Ly away. Thailooe RS-B C29-19

Otherwise, we will be stationary at CSI-61-15434 until 2300 Monday IGT

Will be plotting next jump at 2300 unless I hear to the contrary!

End of Day Two! Carrier is now parked up in the beautiful CSI-61-15434 system, also known as Octarine Plains. For those trying to catch up, we will be parked here until approximately 2300 IGT on Monday, but can hold for a little longer if needed!

Jump days during the week will be a little shorter as I have work commitments, all the waypoints are in both the expedition plan and the EDSM page if anyone fancies disembarking and wants to reconvene at any time.
