Let's Recap :
- Latest Discussion is about the Propaganda each group has to offer. I wish I could show you what the commies are doing, because they're all shades of awesome. Well, mostly half a hundred shades of red, but still. Awesome, I tell you !
- Are you a Fuel Rats Propagandist ? Let's see what you can come up with ! I want to create a contest in which anyone can submit a piece of propaganda for us, to spread the luv and make the fuel flow ! Start your engines, charge your frameshift pens and jump to BETA PHOTOSHOPII (or GIMP HYDRII or HIP PAINT or whatever) ! The Mischief wants you !
- BGS keeps being the hot topic because it's still broken. Guys, can we just let this go ? Leave the BGS alone ! *cue in mascara running down*
- People keep using the Group Forum for non-group-related discussion so I used Sarcasm to steer the discussion in a more group-focused direction. Time will tell if it was a wise move, but my 8-bucky-ball says "maybe not". On each of its 32 faces.
- Elite Racers are proposing a race in conjunction with the BuckyBall Racing Club, The Canonn, and The Fuel Rats. It first came as a surprise that we'd do a Joint Event, but upon further investigation, it was merely one group asking three other groups if they'd be willing to participate. So here's the full discussion (up to now) because I really want to play with dots :
- Elite Racers Hello Forumites and player group leaders!
I was contacted recently by one of the player groups about holding a race with them, but that's not the important bit. It finally brought to relevance our (Elite Racers) long-standing policy against working directly with groups that hold political influence in the 'PvP Scene', so to speak. However, that got me thinking...
I'd like to propose a joint event involving Buckyballers, Fuel Rats, Cannon, and the Elite Racers at Obsidian Orbital.
a) 16-28* racers fully equip† their race ships (fuel scoops or no fuel scoops?) and wing up with a Fuel Rat partner.
b) The Rat and the Racer then Buckyball out to Obsidian Orbitalº, my assumption is that the racer with the most efficient and attentive Rat will be the winner of that segment while the pilots route plotting skills will also be a factor.
c) Once all of the racers arrive, I want to involve Cannon in some way and I figure that Obsidian is the place to do it!
Potential problems:
*Too Many Rats - I don't want to steal away too many of our faithful rescuers and put the citizens of the galaxy at risk...
†Heavy Weights - Racers equipped for travel are not optimal racing builds, that means a maximum FSD will fly poorly in a race and there is no outfitting at Obsidian IIRC
ºStranded - Disregarding those that are truly stranded without fuel scoops, even those who brought travel eagles will be a bit frustrated by the tedious trip back they'll have to make to return to the bubble. Maybe FD could make some mysterious space anomaly teleport them all back eh? 
Or...maybe another community goal to add outfitting to the station but considering the plethora of goals currently active I'm imagining that Thargoid-Intervention is even less unlikely than a new CG.
Anyway, that's the gist of the idea but it still needs to be fleshed out. Any suggestions? And if there is a better place for me to contact the above-mentioned group leaders for discussion, let me know!

- Imperial Privateers Cool idea dude. If you want to involve the Cannon in some way, what about it is a mercy mission speed race BACK from Obsidian base to take meta alloys BACK to the bubble to save other stations?
If you play it in open then it will be like the Blues Brothers with the PvP getting harder as you get closer to the bubble?
Just a thought...
- Elite Racers It would be interesting, but we'd be stuck in racing craft already strapped for jump distance. Although, the Fuel Rats in larger ships may be able to do that as they escort their racers back to civ space...that's a good thought, thanks for the input

I'll talk to the Mischief about it, I think many of them would enjoy the competition.
That said, I think we will struggle to field even 16 rats right now and maintain normal operations. Many of our number felt the pull of the Distant Worlds expedition.
Perhaps organising it heats; 1 heat per day, 4 racers+rats in each heat, with a final on day 5 with the winners from each heat?
Do you have an Xbox presence too?
- Elite Racers We currently do not have an Xbox presence, for a number of reasons which have been looked into. I'm willing to put this event on the backburner for as long as necessary, there is no urgency whatsoever. That is assuming Obsidian Orbital doesn't vanish mysteriously once the barnacle mystery comes to a head >.> If you've lost some rats to the DWE then I'm fine waiting until it returns some months from now. Even then, I'm comfortable reducing the sign-up quantity to whatever number necessary so that we don't disrupt normal Fuel Rats work.
Nonetheless, I'm glad to hear you're on board and look forward to talking out the details. My hope for the event is to have it in one day or weekend by March or April.

The Fuel Rats Mischief as a whole won't be participating, but we'll be sure to spread the word around and if some Individual Rats want to participate they will do so in their own name.
What you're proposing seems like a duet-race with one "racer" and one "compadre" who happens to carry fuel, limpets and controller. It could easily be anyone, you don't need the "real deal"
I'm staying tuned to this discussion.
- Dev Update mentioned something about "Minor Faction In-Game Spokeperson" and immediately some groups raised concerns : How will this happen ? "Creatively" answers Kermit Laphroaig of The Diamond Frog.
- Walt Kerman of The Mercs of Mikunn asks : Is there potential in Discovery Scanner Technolgy being refurbished ? Check out his ideas here. A man wonders if the "group leader" forum was a good place for such a discussion.
- I used that discussion to plant the idea of a CG bringing new modules and/or ships, a bit like how the Diamondback got a CG to get discounted, but with modules. Repair Limpet anyone ?
