EDIT: It was an XBox live player and their game crashed necessitating a full reinstall. Nevermind. I don't think this counts as a loss.

I don't know how this works, but would it be possible to have a live "logged on and ready" place?
That would be very nice, indeed!
A live "logged in and ready" service is something we can do if the current thead-based approach gets overwhelming. At present it seems OK.
Options would be:
- an irc channel
- an email reflector (can forward to sms)
- an sms reflector ($$)
- an in-game notification system
My preference would be the latter and it is not too hard to implement. I think we're 3 weeks at this and don't have a good enough sense of how to scale or if we need to scale, yet.

How about we buy a secret telephone which is interconnected with eachother, so that if someone text's it everybody gets the message.
OR
We invest in a HUGE light-beacon with a rat-logo pointed at the moon... no wait, that wont work... moon isn't up at all times, and the sun doesn't reflect enough of the light.
OR
Big fires on the hills and mountains around the world = go check the forum afterwards.
