Overlooked things that need fixing / improvement

It might be debatable if all of these are truly "overlooked" by the community, since it's possible I've missed some discussions, but I'm just choosing issues based on how much I've seen other users discussing them. I also tried to pinpoint issues that I believe have a decent chance of being acknowledged by Frontier. If anyone has ideas that could also fit into this category, feel free to add them!

1. Multi-selecting / deleting benches, bins, donation boxes, and other path items.

This one is pretty self-explanatory. It's ridiculous that we can only move or delete path-bound items one by one.
2. Controlling the degree of incline for ramping / staircases when building paths.

We can now control the severity of a "ramp" with the terrain tool and build a path on that. But I believe the free "floating" paths themselves should also be more controllable. I suggest, instead of just hitting "U" and "J" to jump to a set degree of ramp or staircase, we should be able to hold these keys down and watch the ramp slowly change angle, and let go of the key when it's at the exact angle we want.
3. More habitat reptiles and habitat birds in DLC packs

There's plenty of talk about aviary birds, and exhibit reptiles. But personally feel there aren't nearly enough reptiles and (especially) birds added in DLC. We've had additions like the cassowary, red crowned crane, American alligator, and some caimans, which are all great. But I feel they're still criminally overlooked compared to mammals. Mammals are obviously going to be more popular, so prioritizing them isn't wrong or anything. But animals like the pelican, swan, secretary bird, shoebill, emu, and kiwi don't require aviaries... and are still MIA.
4. Transport rides are problematic / don't fit a zoo.

I've brought this up before, but it fits here. The gondola is huge, clunky, ugly, and doesn't fit a zoo. The safari jeeps are on a track like a theme park ride and don't even have a driver. Only the monorail and train are well-made and fit a zoo environment. A lot of people also have problems with guests loading in and out, efficiency, and understanding what makes guests attracted to the ride. Most of all, a tour bus and proper chairlift are sorely missing.
5. Blueprints need an overhaul.
I've already posted a lot about this, but I'll link the Issue Tracker page because I think it still counts. Luckily, it's gotten some traction:
6. Can't "reassign" pathing, construction pieces, or rocks.

This one probably can't be fixed in Planet Zoo, but should DEFINITELY be considered by Frontier for any future projects:
It's strange that Planet Zoo has a set of rocks for each biome, when those rocks are all the same, just with a different coat of paint. They should've made it so those were ONE set of rocks, with a flexi-color option-- and of course with the different biomes as presets if we want to choose those. The same thing can be said for paths and construction pieces. I feel like we should be able to highlight a section of path and change it to a different path-type, instead of having to click-click-click-click over an old path with the new one. Many construction pieces in different sets are also nearly identical "reskins" of each other. Maybe for any Planet Coaster / Zoo sequels, building sets should have interchangeable pieces, so they can be mass-transformed all at once if the player changes their mind.

Excellent points, I agree with all of them.

Certainly with the stance that we need more reptiles and birds as habitat animals. For the reptiles, I am mostly missing African Spurred Tortoise as it is the most common tortoise in my area and few others monitors/lizards. For the birds, I miss so many, the examples given would work great as habitat animals, we really need these.

Transport rides are another problem I have with the game - they are unrealistic in a zoo setting. Like I said in the other thread, Planet Coaster had some of those low cost/realistic rides and I dont understand why we cannot have those in a zoo. Please show me a zoo where a futuristic gondola orbs are a thing (ok, please dont, I am sure someone will find something, but it is far away from common), or a zoo where they would just send people without a staff riding the jeep into an enclosure with animals!

Also, very good point with the same pieces reskins. The rocks are a really good example as they are the same model with different textures - they unneccesary clutter the menus. It would be a great solution to have them listed once with neutral texture and when selected, being able to just choose the texture itself. I believe Prehistoric Kingdom uses this method. I doubt this would be changed at the current game tho, maybe the next one.

Hi, I'll be the one to post more animal colors. We now got red foxes, which are amazing. But I also want to see it for the wolves.... Why they are underestimated. Before Twilight DLC it didn't bother me, but now I can clearly see the difference.
Are there a lot of species... Wolves for sure.
Indian Peafowl could use the new "Piebald."

The next is more animals that can dive deep. For me, what is missing most is the Nile Monitor. But tapirs, moose, elephants and hippos could also be included.

These are two things that I really want regarding the animals already in the game. I don't write about model corrections, etc. I'm just writing about new "features" that have been overlooked for other species.

Ok I'll put in something extra as well - franchise mode reward animals should include species from the DLCs you have not just the base game. I love participating in the community challenges and have had some excellent gold tier animals through that but the franchise market is already significantly smaller for DLC animals (obvious reasons as not all players have each DLC). I don't need another gold stat lion but I could really use a gold stat proboscis monkey. It would mean the rewards were much more diverse.

And whilst we are on the subject as others have already said, it would be good to get the music for the DLCs we have integrated so we have more diversity (plus the DLC music is so well done it is criminal not to hear it more).

How about instead of multi-select delete we finally get an actual, proper demolition tool like there should've been from the beginning in a game like this? Again pointing to the one we have in JWE2 which is pretty much perfect with all it's options to select what we want and don't want to be deleted. Why can't we have that in PZ as well when it's so damn needed?

-> Null Paths
-> Selectable railings/kerbs for all paths.
-> Option to toggle off snow and rain during build mode in franchise. (Ever tried to build a tundra franchise zoo? Have fun waiting for the snow to melt until you can build without having all that "white" obstructing your view)
-> Please, please, please fix animals instantly fighting and getting injured after their offspring has matured. This is an issue since the beginning of the game. The animals don't even have to be near each other to get instantly injured. They just happen to be injured and in most cases it happens even before the "xyz has just matured" pops up.

I don't know why the chose the myriad of individual menus rather than a flexicolor system for so many items in the game. I gather fixing it now would be a lot of work which is why we're seeing more new items as flexicolor.

I'd like to see some sort of tab or button you can select to make items climbable or not. The vast majority of the columns are climbable and it's ... a pain in the donkey's behind.

The gosh darn rides are abysmal. They are so difficult to use properly, understand why they do (or don't ) work and the fact that you can't have crosswalks is ridiculous (clearly the program will allow the systems to recognize when something is on the track because they don't' run over animals). I never use them and frankly, they suck for a zoo environment. I know they imported them pretty much whole cloth from Coaster but I've never played that game and learning a whole new complicated and finicky placement system (after paths, water, terrain, animal and staff transversal area, climbing access) ... is a little much. Next time around, the rides and the paths should use the same system - it'll still be annoying but at least it won't be a whole new annoyance.

For god's sake the thing I want to see is to move all blueprints off of all the other menus and into their already existing blueprint tab. Yes you can manually click to remove blueprints but you have to do it for each tab and every time you open your game - and all blueprints seem to show up in all menus because I think - somewhere in the system a default 'all species' is automatically selected for any blueprint. I think the tagging system is a lost cause, it's always been buggy as heck but default putting the blueprints in their menu where they belong seems a no brainer.

OMG, yes, so agreed on the blueprint tagging needing to be fixed! This has been bugging me since launch. And it has gotten worse since searching in blueprints section also includes tags (at least, I think that's what's happening), because previously I could at least type an animal's name to find blueprints with that animal in the name but now everything that has a tag for that animal shows up too and it's become truly impossible to find what I'm looking for.

Also agreed on the multi-selecting of path items. Redoing a section of your zoo is such a hassle when you have to delete all those things one by one.

Just a few from the top of my head:

The ability to make white ceilings - Some of you might be like “you can’t do that already?” but try it and show me if you’re successful because I’ve had no luck. Every object I use as a ceiling is given a yellow hue. It’s annoying when you’re trying to build interiors with white ceilings, one of the most common ceiling colours in real life.

Seasonal variants of trees - The game has some great weather mechanics with the snow and rain but it feels half-finished when the game’s foliage doesn’t match it. It would be nice to have some autumnal variants of trees or bare trees for winter.

Reduce the depth requirement for deep diving - Currently, it feels like you have to build the equivalent of the Mariana Trench (slight exaggeration) to enable animals to deep dive. It’s a problem when building realistic zoos as real life water bodies in zoos are rarely as deep as the ones expected by the game.

Fully enable offline play - Currently, you can only play the game in offline mode if you launch it in online mode first. This isn’t an option to those who don’t have an internet connection (a situation I recently faced while travelling and when my Internet wasn’t ready in my new flat). The game has virtually no networking features when played in sandbox, so there’s no reason to my mind that it can’t be played offline.

Yeah I was pretty surprised to learn that I couldn't boot up PZ when my internet was down recently. They need to change that.

I wish we had more barrier gates, especially the guest gates for walk-through habitats. If you are building a short habitat of 1 or 1.25m it looks especially weird to have a big tall wooden gate attached to it. And we only have a choice of wood or... oh, no other choice lol. We could do with more gates for the rides and the keepers too.

And why do we not have more options for the donation bins? Only having one style makes me very sad
