I brought my aussie one for viper and cannot wait till they have them for the other ships in the game

c'mon FD artwork guys after the NY party can we please have our flags for OTHER ships??????

The decals are only a .png file or something similar. You could knock a load of them up in a lunch time, easy.

Decals and Skins could be purchased as micro transactions, others could be awarded by different factions in the game for achieving certain ranks or completing certain missions.

There is a huge amount of scope for this, I for one would complete certain objectives just to get a cool skin or decal.

Finally when is the Union Jack or St George flag going to be available for my Cobra, come on FD I would pay money for that

I really like the idea of being given decals for rank progession in a major faction and perhaps when you are allied to a major faction perhaps a unique paintjob for that faction would be a darn cool reward

Will we ever be able to design our own Decals?

I know there are always censorship concerns when players create their own content in this way, especially in a multi-player game. I remember however that when i chose my commander name before release, it was subject to a real human check before i could use it, maybe the same could be done for decals? You get one chance at creating something and that's it, no more, in order to save time for the guy/gal who has to look at them to make sure they are ok.

Probably won't ever happen but i would love to personalise my ship in this way, i bought one colour scheme of each skin available but i don't want to be a pirate, and pirate skulls are the only decals available i think.

Maybe, but you will probably be the only one who would see them. Otherwise they would need to be sent to every player you interact with.

oh i would love that.... if the skins are propagated to other players.. which aren't many in any given instance.. what is it 30 or so people at a time? Why couldn't decals be handled the same way?

Individual player decals would prove difficult to manage given each country / community likely has symbols and text that are locally offensive, racist, nationalistic, anti- etc etc etc but aren't well known outside that community

WoT allows clan decals given the smaller number makes it easier to manage, so maybe Elite could have major faction decals and minor faction decals or profession decals

Call of Duty and Halo has decent success with their emblem creators that allow you to combine several pre-made pieces and use your own layout and colours to make it personal. As a simple vector definition file it would be super efficient to transfer over the network even in situations with lots of player ships, compared to image file decals.

This allows for personalization without too much risk of offensive imagery.

Custom paintjobs would be nice too. Just a two-tone colour picker would be quite enough to make it personal, especially in combination with an emblem. Possibly with different premade colour layouts to choose from such as stripes, highlights etc.

Paint job bought, paid but not available?

Hi,

i bought a Viper 10£ gold paint today but it wasn't delivered. I paid it via paypal, its deducted but also after a restart the paint job is not available.
How can I trigger this?

It seems to take several hours to update available paint jobs after a purchase. It would be much nicer if they were available immediately.

New Decals with rank progression

New Ranks in Combat/Trading/Exploration as well as rank progression for Federation/Empire should be rewarded with a new decal to paint on a Commander's ship.

In Game Chat/ Paint for my ship?

i keep getting pulled out of frameshift by this guy who msg me im unsure to how to reply. as well i wanna paint up my eagle ship
