Then they need to create bounty hunting if they're removing bounty farming.
If players rack up 7 figure bounties, there should be NPCs with those kinds of bounties too. They said players and NPCs should be as much the same as possible, yet yesterday I bagged an AI Anaconda (Elite) with a worthless 9600 credit bounty on it. 9600. An Elite player going on a rampage in an Anaconda would rack up millions.
I guess it depends on what of ship you are in. I've bagged 2 Anacondas @ $75k Cr each, or better described, I helped Federal Authority ships in my Cobra take them down. I could have never bagged them on my own.
Regarding BH, if the idea is to have players jump from RES to RES to find pirates, as someone said, this introduces more grind into a game that all ready is based on heavy grind. For those of us who find BH to be the primary fund thing to do, if post patch as described, it's going to have an adverse effect on our participation. If nothing else is intoduced with combat, or if combat bonds remain low, although I just heard that. I've never been to a conflict zone and have no idea how combat active they are, then I think there is going to be a small revolt.
If I can kill 3 pirates, but then have to hyperjump, drive in system to another RES, I'm not going to be happy. As it is right now, there is one place I know of with 4 extraction sites in close proximity to one another and it remains to be seen after the patch if cycling through them will provide a steady stream of bounties. This would have an effect of causing conjestion in that system, or driving people to play solo if that creates more opportunities to find pirates. Can anyone who has actually played the beta report on the condition of BH with the patch applied?
Finally I hope the Devs remember while there may be people who live and breath this game, there will be a legion of casual players like myself who want to get in, have fun, make good money and get out. Introducing grind is not the path to success.
