Patch To Kill Free Lance Bounty Hunting at Extraction Sites?

300k an hour? You really did that poorly?

1500k is what I made, and there's a video fo someone who made 5000k in 90 minutes.

I'm guessing he is talking extraction sites, which would be about that, especially if you don't get anacondas and were in a smaller ship.

Bounty hunting was previously more like bounty farming. It seems FD are now addressing this and players just need to travel between hunting grounds a bit. I just wish the pirates were more organised and dangerous. Targeting of BHs (in SC as well as at RESs) by pirate factions seems logical to me, especially if a BH had been disrupting pirate operations. Pirates might also want to try to buy off BHs. Organised crime is usually intelligent in nature.

Then they need to create bounty hunting if they're removing bounty farming.

If players rack up 7 figure bounties, there should be NPCs with those kinds of bounties too. They said players and NPCs should be as much the same as possible, yet yesterday I bagged an AI Anaconda (Elite) with a worthless 9600 credit bounty on it. 9600. An Elite player going on a rampage in an Anaconda would rack up millions.

I guess it depends on what of ship you are in. I've bagged 2 Anacondas @ $75k Cr each, or better described, I helped Federal Authority ships in my Cobra take them down. I could have never bagged them on my own.

Regarding BH, if the idea is to have players jump from RES to RES to find pirates, as someone said, this introduces more grind into a game that all ready is based on heavy grind. For those of us who find BH to be the primary fund thing to do, if post patch as described, it's going to have an adverse effect on our participation. If nothing else is intoduced with combat, or if combat bonds remain low, although I just heard that. I've never been to a conflict zone and have no idea how combat active they are, then I think there is going to be a small revolt.

If I can kill 3 pirates, but then have to hyperjump, drive in system to another RES, I'm not going to be happy. As it is right now, there is one place I know of with 4 extraction sites in close proximity to one another and it remains to be seen after the patch if cycling through them will provide a steady stream of bounties. This would have an effect of causing conjestion in that system, or driving people to play solo if that creates more opportunities to find pirates. Can anyone who has actually played the beta report on the condition of BH with the patch applied?

Finally I hope the Devs remember while there may be people who live and breath this game, there will be a legion of casual players like myself who want to get in, have fun, make good money and get out. Introducing grind is not the path to success.

The 1.1 patch is out, if my first night back is the norm, then BH has been SIGNIFCANTLY nerfed. First off Sidewinders were in abundance, Cobra's were not. Sidewinder bounties ranged mostly from $2000 down to $400, yes $400 Cr, although one lone Sidewinder earned $6K. Cobras had dropped from $14-25K, down to $6-14k. In a typical session about 90 minutes my pay off was cut approximately in Half. Usually in about 50 min I was making about $80-135k Cr. Tonight I made an extended stay and earned about $68k, where in the same period before the patch, I could easily gross about $200k. As far as traffic, it was hard to evaluate. I'd stay and kill about 4 Sidewinders, get the idea that no Cobras would appear, so I'd SC over to the next RES, for more Sidewinders, and finally one more where I started seeing Cobras. Not to sound grumpy, but for a game that relies on grind, and currently does not have that much to do, this is the WRONG direction.:eek:

Ok, today when I logged in today, there was a patch. Tonight my bounty hunting was much better. I could find Cobra's and made about $200k in an hour or so. Now that's much better. I wonder if there is more variation in spawning of pirates with the 1.1 patch, or they made an adjustment? Can't say. I can say it's much improved over last night. :):)

After a couple more days of bounty hunting, I'm seeing some variety, sometimes an actual mixe of Sidewinders and Cobras in RESs, with a variety of bounties. Yes, generally speaking Cobra bounties can be as low as 8k or as high as 23k. I've also run into situations I'd call brawls with several bad guys all at once with Federal Authorities on my side, it is dooable. If I was by myself, it would be bad very bad. ;) Bottom line, from a BH persective, after the 1.1 patch, it's not as bad as I first experienced. Usually in these RES (resource extraction site) fights, there are Authority ships involved also shooting bad guys. Can any one say if there is a correlation to how much damage you do to a pirate as compared to the bounty pay off?

On the occasions where I took note of the bounty after scanning, it didn't seem to matter how much % dmg I did, when authority ships were assisting.

Good to know, thanks!

It is borderline boring now. There are simply not enough spawnings(wanted) to keep me amused.
And when more than 1 Cmdr is in a zone its crap.

The obvious solution to your ennui is contained in your post: kill the other CMDR!
Private group or solo to cut down on the competition when BH.
