Patterson Vision landing pads are bugged...

this has happened to both my wife and I in the last few hours. both using docking computers, the ships start bouncing in place rather than touching down. the only solution is to switch off the docking module and do it manually, except the ship then starts drifting to the left which makes it almost impossible to pull off. fwiw i was in a type 7, she was in a cobra mk3. never had this happen in any other station.

Sounds like network issues there. I would sugges to report to Frontier Support on Twitter.

Cheers. Funnily enough I saw a thread either here or on reddit yesterday about "phantom occupants" on landing pads in the same station but didn't read it thoroughly. I can't find the thread atm but I do remember they were talking about it happening in open - we were in a private group, so I'm not sure if that means they're related or not. Definitely seems to be some weirdness going on there though!

Definitely contact QA with all details.

I assume you were in a wing, and possibly used nav lock to enter the station instance?

There's a known bug that makes docking impossible when you have a wingmate in your station instance.

Crazy, I know.

Hi! We were in a wing but when it happened to me, it didn't happen to her and vice versa. Not sure if that bug causes everyone in the wing to flake out or not. It's definitely not happened to us while in a wing while playing previously though.

The nav-lock is the key to it. Just being in a wing is fine; if you're nav-locked then all sorts of weird things can happen. Disable the nav-lock, leave the station, and re-enter, and it should all be fine.

This has tended to happen a lot in busy CG systems over the past few weeks. NPC ships blocking landing pads, and player ships spawning merged with one or more NPC vessels when switching instances or transferring to another ship.

There's a thread full of hybrid pictures here, among other places.

The Frankenstein ships are kind of cool, but it would be nice if this bug got squashed. The blocked landing pad aspect is particularly annoying. I don't know what it's like in Open, but it got to the stage in Mobius where pilots were warning each other of glitched pads so they could cancel and re-request docking so as not to waste time flying into the station.
