Depends what you mean by "progress". On request, support can nix your XBone account and transfer all money over to your PC account (once), that's about it. So if, for you, "progress" = "money", then yes. For everything else, no. No ships, no ranks, no mats.

Now that you can easily make a billion a night, it's not worth bothering Support unless you have many billions. I have several accounts and have made about 20 starts. It doesn't take long to get everything you need when you know what you're doing.

Simple answer, yes.

You will start again from scratch on your new PC account. No open engineers, neutral with all factions.

More qualified answer: Yes & No.

As above, but you can ask FDev support to transfer the credit value of your Xbox account to your new PC account. Arx and any cosmetics bought in the store will not be transferred over (but will still be available on xbox) and your xbox account will be reset to zero.

My opinion, keep your Xbox account credits are very easy to come by and tou have to do all the rest anyway.

If you're a pretty new player, you won't have too much progress to lose overall.

I've also made the change from Xbox to PC, and the performance difference is worth it. Not to mention having another screen right there to wile away the time with if you're in a long transit, good for managing podcasts/background stuff.

You can also just use your Xbox controller on a Windows PC, it can be as easy as just using a USB cable and you're connected - great if you don't want to learn the PC controls.
