News Peek of the Week: Cobra Mk IV

1. No specs? :(
2. The winglets are meh. The "teeth", I find them horrible. That protruding "nose", ugly and unneeded. The Cobra MK III has such a clean, distinguished shape, adding extra bits sticking out of it doesn't make it look better or cooler in my view, just somewhat convoluted and arbitrary.
3. Here is hoping the exclusive Gamescom paintjob is equally bad, then I won't miss it at least.

I hope to offset its extra hardpoint and whatever else it has (better power distributor most likely, to support the extra gun), it is heavier slower and less agile than the Cobra MK III, so that it does not compete for that specific niche, and rather compete with the Asp in terms of combat capabilities.

What would you like the MKIV Cobra look like?

Fortunately perception of that kind of stuff is very subjective ;)

I, for one, love it! It looks... matured, like someone above has said :)

MKIV is just a bit bigger and badder

Apart from the mentioned hardpoint changes which obviously have some effect on the exterior design, the same as the MK III. I find the design perfect and if any changes are to be made for the sake of changing, it could be made too look a bit bulkier, for example, without adding protruding bits to the overall silhouette.

awww we could've got a diff angle at least. That tweet was days ago - plenty of time to come up with something new.. sad panda.

Still, nice ship!

It's a bit of an ugly duckling, but in the same way as the AH-64 or the A-10.
In some machines, especially war machines, utilitarian ugliness is it's own kind of beauty.

Not too impressed. It looks almost exactly the same as the Mk111. Two little wings on it and preety mch exactly the same?

I would have much preferred the Mk1

At least that ship was a different shape.

So now we have two cobras, three dropships, two diamond backs and two eagles...

It looks like they are your five mystery extra ships that were added to the 25...

I did wonder if they would introduce new ships or upgrades to enable planetary landings - maybe some of the additions are for that.

I could of course be wrong.

Since I'm usually inside the ship, I really don't care much what the outside looks like. More interested in it's specs.

Side note: what kind of knucklehead builds a station that close to to a star? ...toasty!!! :p

Looks to me like the Jap Type R variant of a MKIII

This could get interesting........... does the cockpit now include a G meter and like the Nissan :D

Cobra Mrk 4! Yay! History in the making. I hope it is still multi role and just an expensive cobra mark 3 with a few subtle little improvements

Well, it's unsurprisingly similar to the Mk.III, and while I prefer the Mk.III based on what I've seen so far due to it's cleaner lines (not a fan of the winglets or nose protrusions), I am kind of curious to see this one from the rear. Also curious on how it compares in size and specs. Eh, big time Mk.III fan so I'll probably have this just for collecting purposes if nothing else.

Hmm, very intellectual, philosophical.
But does it matter when your being shot at, your shields are being stripped and your hull is being dismantled?:(
All done in the most artistic, elegant manner of course.:)

Actually the winglets are a bit naff and not very cobra like but the nose bits are fine and suit the profile. The winglets seem a bit like bolted on chav spoilers.
