News Peek of the Week: Cobra Mk IV

Its beautiful. I recon the fifth hardpoint goes on the nose. It has to go on the nose, it will really get the classic Cobra look back.

Marry, kiss, avoid?

Avoid! :p

Just kidding, it may be a bit ungainly looking with those boxy ends and boy racer bodykit but it's all about the numbers (and sound) for me - after all, you can't see it when you're in it! ;)

Yes you can... ;)

Nice ship, but it looks a bit too similar to the Mk III. It needs a different profile to tell it apart from the current model quickly. Maybe just make the back a bit longer? Or if it's supposed to be chunkier, then add some bulk around the middle.

Naw, It's bigger. -My guess It will have larger cargo capacity or FSD capability. Using a Scarab, you will be able to carry more cargo yet have the mobility using the Scarab on planets than the Standard Cobra MK III. It's a no brainer for us Premium Beta backers.

Hoping it can carry a class 5, or even a 6 (that would be awesome), shield. I think Class 5 is more likely though.

Once we get planetary landing I think it would be a lot of fun if we got salvage missions and during these missions we reach places where old ships like the Krait, Cobra MK1, Constrictor can be found. Sort of an interstellar scrap yard !

2. The winglets are meh. The "teeth", I find them horrible. That protruding "nose", ugly and unneeded. The Cobra MK III has such a clean, distinguished shape, adding extra bits sticking out of it doesn't make it look better or cooler in my view, just somewhat convoluted and arbitrary.

I must admit that I feel a bit the same way, especially about the nose. It's like a Max Power modded version of the MK III.

I like some of the ships well enough, and the stations are excellent in every way, but I think that Frontier needs to give the ships a design overhaul.

It's what's on the inside that counts.... :)

Chocolate mousse?

Seems sturdy the Cobra. Mk IV .. who could imagine that one day the dream would become a reality ? Impatient to know the characteristics of this snake. I like the Cobra Mk IV.

To really illustrate this point you should post an HDT VL pic and that would really paint the right picture.

Personally I dislike the additional appendages but I look forward to any performance improvements. The Mk.III is my ship of choice and while the IV looks a bit funky I'll take to it if it'll outdo the III on the spec sheet.

I certainly look forward to seeing it in action and seeing how well it'll do.

I just hope they took to the Mk.I to Mk.III school of evolution rather than the Mk.I to Mk.II :D

I agree with you as far as the specs go. I like the cobra a lot, and feel it would be nice to have another cobra option rather than feeling pressed into using an ASP as a cobra upgrade.

Damn.. It looks like it just swallowed a viper and docked to digest it.

Lol, almost. To me, it looks Like it just swallowed a viper, and is on the hunt for another one. ;)

Kidding aside, I do like the design. Definitely looking forward to seeing how it flies.
