With any luck they are taking some of the feedback they've heard and refining the design. I think it's way too boxy and angular, with too much "stuff" on it. A curvier, sleeker, slightly larger and more modern take on the classic would be perfect ... in my mind anyway!
This looks boxy at first, but it's just a trick of the light, and an unfortunate camera angle. The Mk IV is actually as sleek as the Mk III. The body appears to be tall, but it's actually just longer. For example:
People think the Mk IV looks like this:

SIDE

Meanwhile, it really looks more like this:
TOP
/|||\

SIDE

For reference, the Mk III looks like this:
TOP

The smoothness of the Mk IV curves are more obvious if you look at the other side of the ship that is in the light.

Not easy. Hope you're right. Another view from another angle would be welcome

Not a V but a W. Look again at the 4k pic snippet in my post above. Pay attention to the panel plates as they reach the fin. And notice the blue line in the shaded section. It's obvious once you see it.
I think I see where you're coming from; whilst the predominant shape is a shallow V, the tips beyond the fins cut forward to make the W (or rather an inverted W when compared to the V-shape) and line up with the panel line on the top which represents the end of the Mk. III's body, correct?
Yup that's itan inverted V compared to the W shape: \!...--""--...!/
I'm 99.9% sure that I'm right. Just look at the blue line on the bottom left corner of the back. It looks like a thruster shield of some kind extending back like the one on the DBS, but with a gentle W shape rather than DBS's severe and broken V shape. Also if you notice the gentle slope of the side panel on the top right, it becomes clear that the new Cobra isn't boxy at all. It's just a regular Cobra Mk III with fins and extended headlights, with a *slightly* longer body.
