Well, Tom is Voyager's most competent officer: Commando, Field Medic, ace pilot, author of holoprograms, inventor of an engine that goes to infinity miles per hour, and he even laid Captain Janeway.
Plus, the "space is an ocean" trope is active in Star Trek, so the fins actually serve a purpose of stabilizing the craft. Clearly, Tom Paris is genre-savvy ;-)

Oh, I take it all back about this Cobra, hope it's awesome (will need to be to compete with other ships). Hope I can use my wireframe paintjob.

Thats what MB said however, just looked my store order up for my chrome paintjob and it says "Chrome - Cobra", not Cobra Mk III, think I may have a case? :)

I really don't think you do... ;)

When the skin was released there was only 1 Cobra model available in game, hence there was no need to clarify which Cobra it applies to.

It's a new ship with a new geometry, it requires a new skin. It really is that simple...

You could also say that if you take the naming seriously the bought paint job should apply to the Cobra MK I as no version is mentioned. Therefor the fact it works for your MK III is a freebie :)

I really don't think that we need to argue about this... it won't change anything ;)

Its a shame FD can't feed some more pictures or data to us. Can't they see everyone is so .... eager to know more? And yes, I think the paintjobs probably won't carry over, due to different models. If they did, it would have to be some gesture of good will on FD behalf which I dont think they have to do.

I believe their 'gesture of good will' is and should be the amazing amount of awesome content that they are going to release with horizons so nothing more needed to be done. :)

I was joking of course, whilst I am a little miffed that I bought the limited edition Chrome skin for the Cobra MK 3 and it won't apply to the MK 4, it IS after all a slightly bigger ship so it does make sense logistically and financially for FD that a new skin is needed to be paid for. As long as the chrome skin is released for the MK IV preferably right away then I'll be happy :)

Ditto, that and the Wireframe. I'm pretty sure they'll release at least the WF skin for the Mk IV, it's too iconic not to!

I like the look of Mk IV. I'd like to add a badge to it:cool:

Meh. I'm not impressed. You should make it to where it has 4 huge hardpoints and can one-shot a Farragut. Then I'll get one. In the meantime, I'll just be flying my Sidewinder.
