General Personal storage in stations!!

Since you (developers) have nerfed the economy in mining, it will take us newcomers a very long time to afford a carrier. Its the only personal storage option i know of, but correct me if i am wrong. It should be possible for all of us, to have access to a storage facility, It would give us an option for a bit more strategic gameplay, and a QoL feature i think all players would like.

They should activate Storage in stations, charge a weekly storage fee based on how much space you use.

I'd be ok with personal storage at a station. Let's say a 4 billion credit deposit for access, with a weekly fee of 10-20 million credits to cover costs. Maybe a 15 minute transfer time to any station within 500 ly, but with a hefty increase to the weekly bill to cover transport costs.

Ok now let's put down the crack pipe and actually have a reasonable suggestion.

Charging someone comparable fees of an actual fleet carrier for station storage that doesn't move is beyond ludicrous.

Wait, so you cannot store ships at stations now? Or does the OP mean storing cargo? Storing cargo at stations is akin to creating a new commodity at that station. Imagine storing 10K imperial slaves, the amount of complaining they do. Who would put up with it?

Any upkeep cost are in my view, inherently bad.

There are numerous posts through the years of pilots wanting somewhere to store all their ships and be able to take them with them without transfer waiting times.
I feel robbed by the developers that it was implemented this way and the thought of any extra upkeep being added to me is frankly ridiculous.

I have the dough for a carrier but will wait to see if they remove this blight from them.
It will most probably be a long wait........
or until I have enough money to buy one and forget about the upkeep for the rest of my natural life.

I think it's great idea to be able to store cargo at your carrier (for no extra cost/upkeep)
It's always grated on me that We have to have enough cargo space in the ship Were getting into before We can use it.
I'm sure this could cause exploits or other detrimental effects but we are dealing with a few of those anyway so another one won't matter.

Mining isn't your only option. Now I can make upkeep in just a few hours of bounty hunting a week. Seems there are more ways than ever to afford one.
It really won't - certain mission types related to either combat or trade can if done well earn at least as much as mining ever did. I got mine with no mining at all that way, and they've made the missions even more profitable since.

I kinda disagree...
Mining was able to provide high gains not related to ranks or combat skills or engineering

Sure currently running missions in trade or combat are very lucrative now, but they are lucrative for the people that are already elites and have nice engineered ships.
Not for the nooblet that got just barely got an Adder.

Now, i'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing.
But the truth is the mining nerfs affected mostly the noobs and almost none at all the old and the rich.
