Pilots and Squadrons of the galaxy - we need YOU - 2HOT2MESSY is ON.

Anyone carrying a shedload of Mugs and Gin to the Colonia region on a FC? I can help truck them to commodity markets around here. My FC "The Ends of Invention" is currently parked in orbit around Colonia 4 near Jacques Station.

:p

I'll ask for you. On the event page there's a carrier section which will be updated on those who have some aboard and are happy to offer them up.

We're aware that despite the Hutton Helper logging deliveries, names aren't all appearing in the commanders list - fret not, they're counting (and in fact your names are against those settlements), it's just the totaliser hamster needs more cheese.

The list is auto extending. We've already added another 50000 stations to it this week taking total to 170000.

Anyone who lands at a new one it will add to our database on the fly.
Just 50,000 more. Pish posh. I love it! :) We just added another month to completion. Keep the distillery and the ceramic-painters going!

🧀 🧀 🧀 🧀 Hilarious! This is a strain on resources, cheese and other! Get an FC loaded with cheese over there, we've got another 50k to count!
You DO have another hamster ready? This one's not getting fat, but its little heart is pitter-pattering on high gear!

...and on a more serious note: I might suggest that the HOTBUS timetable would be wonderful to see on the HH site. I'm afraid it's going to get lost in this thread. Page 4 is already "back there somewhere."
I know you and crew are doing a bunch of work to keep this going, and I appreciate it. My suggestion is offered with the best of intentions to be helpful.

Someone (and I know that someone knows where his secret lair is) needs to hunt down the almighty "EF" and tie him to a sofa. Then give him a MUG with GIN and tell him to take a break. There is a lot more data going on in this one than the 1st Hot-Mess (which I personally enjoyed very much). I know it's been said before, and it's now been over 24 hours with no "real" hiccups - "THANK YOU ENTARIUS" for the work you and your hamsters (can't forget the gerbils too) have done to make this event as exciting and bigger and fun than Hot-Mess/Mist (as if that wasn't a big enough deal to pull off). - OK, break over - back to MUGGINing....

Curious. Has anyone pointed their ship at Hutton upon drop-in, pushed the throttle to full, and enabled SCA? How long does that take?
My question for you is - why don't I see an "Esteban" here - https://hot.forthemug.com/hutton_run - Fastest time is 1 hour 22 minutes and 20 seconds. I know that there is a math wizard somewhere that could figure it out but SCA is - what? - 80% throttle. For the sake of my simple brain, call it 75%. So you'd add another 25% to the time. Roughly 15 more minutes for the Hour. 5 more for the Minutes, and 5 more seconds for the seconds. So, 1 Hour, 42 minutes and 25 seconds? That'd put you around rank 570. And that's all if everything goes well - no NPC blocking the pad or a pirate trying to get you cause you also had goodies on board that you were looking to sale.

This project is also a good opportunity to visit Pioneer Stores wherever we land to see what the latest suit and weapon special offers are available. It's all good info for the Suit and Equipment Sharing thread in Odyssey Dangerous Discussion so that others can pick up some bargains.

Something a bit funny about Madan Manufacturing Installation in Wolf 359. It's listed as having docking and market offline, but I thought I'd check it out anyway, and the lights were on when I arrived. So I sold a mug and gin, and a duplicate red line appeared in the table, but it didn't seem to register.

EDIT: Ah, never mind. Reloading the page fixed it! In case anyone else sees something like that.

I'm pleased to announce (courtesy of @Caelum Incola) that we have three embroidered Buckyball patches to offer as prizes for the best three race locations reported as part of operation 2HOT2MESSY. We'll have some sort of BRC judging panel at the end to decide the "best". So if you find yourself delivering to a base in a really interesting location, report it with screenshots and location details in this thread and we'll go through them all at the end.
Not being a Buckballer (?) I'm not entirely sure what would warrant a 'good spoy for a spot of buckyballing' but maybe this place?

Secluded crater spot, nice long run up the tree-lined drive, lots of parking, feature landscaping including geysers.

Thank you for feeding the hamsters.
I now am visible in the charts! \o/

My question wasn't in the context of making any records. I was asking to see if anyone has done it so that it's not just a guess and to get an idea of how much longer it might take.

Oops; ninja'd while typing. (y)

Figuring it the way you mention is certainly one way. I suspect - due to gravitational effects allowing ships to go faster at times while inexplicably slowing them at others - that it's not as simple as adding 25% to the time achieved without using supercruise assist. I suspect that it would be longer than that. The star system's bodies are in constant motion as well, so unless you can start your trips with them in the same positions every time it's going to be pretty hard to predict, let alone compare, even simplifying to include just the few bodies that exert most of the influence in the system. If the bodies were aligned in a favorable way on that one trip that you decided to use SCA, who knows- maybe you'd get there faster. I'm not up on my gravitational simulation equations.

What can I say? I am curious. ⚙️⚙️

When you begin a long journey like this, I suspect that your starting trajectory (relative to bodies and planes, etc.) has a pretty significant effect on how the whole trip goes. I personally have experienced peak speeds anywhere from approx 1500c to >1900c. I can't say that I have closely timed my trips, but - to the minute precision - I have seen times from 1h,23m to 1h,31m+.

btw: I AM on that list, just not with this name (long story that needn't be related here). That said, most of my trips to Hutton have been made while not trying to note or to improve my travel time. I really like that the HH site keeps a record of travel times. (I presume times are recorded only if logged-in or if using the Helper plugin.)

Thinking about this brings up another question regarding he times shown on the HH site: Does the clock start as soon as you drop-in from your hyperspace jump? If I were to scoop fuel before actually heading towards H.O., for example, it would impact the time recorded. It would be ambiguous and challenging to start the clock another way in a consistent manner so I expect the answer is YES. I might have to resist my habit of scooping next time to see if I can best my lowest time. :)

Have fun trucking. Back to it for me too.

starting trajectory, current position of Hutton around Eden and Eden around Proxima have a big effect....

also - clock is from "arrive from jump" to "landing gear down".
