Pirate Lord Luca

This reddit post was brought up within Children of Raxxla Intel.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/73wt7p/grey_comets_13_what_is_this/

It referred to a "Silver Comet".
That set off a memory from long ago on Galnet. 27 January 3301 to be precise.

That article was itself derived from a short story in "Tales From The Frontier". "The Comet's Trail" by Darren Grey.

I was 1 jump away from Ross 690 when I was told about the reddit post, so I went to check it out for myself.
Halley Installation in Ross 690
That little ship to the side is my Anaconda.

Which had a satellite nearby with a data scan

There were 3 ship log uplinks to scan for messages

Based on that, and the Galnet article, I went to check out Quiness, only 20ly away.

There was a Listening Post in orbit around Quy in Quiness.

This one mentioned about the Karis system.

Karis was 117ly from Quiness, so a few jumps later, there was nothing out of the ordinary. I went scouting around the planets, until I saw a blank entry in orbit around Karis AB 2 on my contacts tab...

It was another huge structure.
Little Anaconda for scale again.

There were 3 Ship Log Uplinks.

The 3 messages combined read...

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention someone scanned me on arrival. The Pirate Lord Luca himself!

For those of you wondering what this is about, this is expanding from the short story in "Tales From The Frontier".
Thanks in no small part to the Children of Raxxla Intel team for providing backup and research while I was flying around for these POIs.

That's pretty awesome, actually. I think I need to pay more attention to these sorts of little stories, I'm sure there are more of them...

Z...

Hey it's me! The guy who stumbled uppon the Halley Instalation in the Ross 960 system! So... you would never (at least until somebody else stumbled uppon that) figure this little story line if I did not run out of fuel in that system? And started sniffing around the weird stuff?

Amazing find, sir!

I've read the short story myself and it's brilliant that it's being extended in the game.

I remember...

Absolutely! Thank you for finding the installation in Ross 690. The mention of the Silver Comet is what triggered it all. As soon as I read your post, I knew that the old Galnet article was involved somehow. Going to Quiness was a guess.

Nice! It's the first time I find something interesting like this in ED! Got me very excited! And it was totally by chance I guess... Because I don't run out of fuel often! :D hehehe

The scribe of the tale has spoken!

You say beware the Grey Comets?
Then I'll keep an eye out for them.

As a note of warning, while it is possible to complete all stages using an anaconda, I doubt you'll be able to use any larger ship. Spiny Norman only just fit into the space where one of the logs is located.

I guess you didn't take the Annie into some of the tunnels at Ross 690 - the electric buzzing things are really quite off-putting!

Great finds by the way!

You know you can shoot those out of the way right? You can also shoot open closed doors (can't remember if there are any at Luca's base).
