Planet Coaster - Spring Update

We will see more about the April update closer to the release date, which is April 11, 2017. Bo said in the livestreams that they will show content of the update in the livestreams closer to the release.

I think we are going to see more very welcome improvements to existing features in the game. Like the blueprint update. Even with what they have announced it's going to be a fantastic improvement to the base game which is already fantastically good, in my opinion.

Yep, from experience we know each update they like to surprise us last minute with content we didn't even see coming so I'm excited for what is revealed over the next fortnight or so.

Who else will open a brand new park just for this update? :D

I'm going to yeah! I'm still working on my original parks from the alpha of the game so I feel that this is a good a time as any to start something new up! Going to make either a desert or grasslands park with a focus on the more classic rides!

I am definitely going to, I've started a park for each major update. I have parks from Alpha 1, 2 & 3 (Lake Greenwood), the official release (Alpine Valley) and coming up...Spring. I feel like I have to! [big grin]

Just realised I am off from the bank holiday Friday (14th) till the Monday (24th) of April so hope update on time and does bring what I want into the game to some extent for me to really try and get back into it :)

Do they though?
I strangely remember each update containing exactly what they stated, with the exception of removing ride names from a selection of ride signs, which was not even in the patch notes... (And I still dislike, why not keep both old and new signs?)

Every time people hype things up for "surprice content" it seem to not be there, and I assume those who expect it will be dissapointed?
The new stuff we know of looks great, wouldn't recommend overhyping non existant stuff though.

(And for the love of god frontier, rework the pathing system, been horrible since alpha 1, every patch makes it less horrible, but still...)

It shouldn't be easier to build coasters than to build paths...

There were content & features in the Beta/Winter update streams that we certainly weren't aware of before they were revealed (just check back on the PC Youtube). And it seems all features of 1.2 are being shown off next week in the community stream so I'm certainly not contemplating just bug fixes to go with what we've seen until now. You want to underhype fine, I have reason to believe good things are coming next week [up]

Oh yeah and you say 'rework the pathing system', let them know what you're having issues with/want to see implemented otherwise they don't exactly have much to go on.

Silvarret recently released an amazing tutorial about creating Plazas which goes in-depth with details about how to trick the path system and how it could be improved, its a great video and I hope the devs take his suggestions into consideration [up] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEtI8Q4XCek

I hope it opens their eyes to the fact that you need an in depth tutorial from a highly skilled player in order to do something that should be very simple and basic to do in a game like this. The paths are still my biggest issue with this game, I cannot get past working with them.

I kind of wish paths where not "tracks" like they are now, but instead paintable on the ground...

Rectangle painting, circular painting, line painting, curved line painting.

Left click to add path, right click to remove it.

Yes, I do essentially mean the Microsoft Paint of Path Design...

It would be cool if Silverart took the biggest community challenge ever ...

a remake of all the major Roller coaster tycoon 1 maps :D

Yes the path system is a mess and not perfect, but it is manageable. You just have to get used to it and try things out, just as Silv, Freethebear, DeLadySigner and many other 'highly skilled players' do and figure out a way in which it works for you. This game screams creativity and when you expect that the game just has to work perfectly and you just can sit back and let the game give you this creativity, sorry but you are wrong.

I see allot of people who sit back, play (and enjoy) the game and later complain about how something doesn't work in a simple way. Well, maybe the game was designed to be discovered, maybe the path system is way more complex then we know and we have to discover and explore options in it which aren't discovered right now.

This is in no way an angry reply or personal attack, don't get me wrong here, I am just saying that this game isn't perfect and we don't have to want it to be. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 wasn't perfect and then came allong the community who made it so much better with so many inspiring projects and new discoveries. We need to discover the game and be happy that the Devs are still working on this game and adding new stuff.

So go out, play this game and discover now unknown options in the Path system, management, coaster editor and most of all: Get creative!

Edit: I have deleted my entry, 'cause I#ve find the solution by more testing. Thanks Squirrelmonkey93 for the hint too.

@Spanky if you click the select grid option on the right bottom and than scroll a bit, you can see an option of square grid. Deladysigner used that on her queue

I feel like the last few weeks have been pretty quiet in terms of announcing new items. They way they made it sound they had more to show us after PAX. Sadly that has not been the case. I worry there isnt much more to show. It be cool if they left some major suprises for us to just see. But I really can't see that being the case. Especially something like major gameplay element or a new ride.

We got a lot so far. And overall what we have does seem like enough. They just kinda got my hopes up with all the "more to come talk".

Maybe they had more planned but wanted to see if it make deadline, which it most likely will not.
