Galapagos tortoise from the Galápagos Islands, one of the most known islands / island groups in the world. Add in some other animals to sell with it like puffins, pelican, a couple full aquatic species, pretty good starter pack to me.
Hot take, even with the sifaka, fossa, devil, tortoise, and kiwi out of the way I still think an island pack could be an absolute banger.

The only issue is that it would need birds to be a bulk of the filler, and we know we can’t have that!

I think more people would be upset by seeing entire roster making in, because it also means no animal updates of any sort and new behaviors. Just simple copy and paste.
Why wouldn’t they update the models with years passing??? That makes no sense. the animals will definitely (hopefully) be touched upon. Look at the muttaburrasaurus from the first jwe to the second or all the resizes to the stego triceratops, etc

Absolutely! You could do a roster like this:
  • Sulawesi Bear Cuscus
  • Cuban Crocodile
  • White-Striped Dorcopis
  • Hawaiian Goose
  • Mediterranean Monk Seal
  • Vancouver Island Marmot
  • Giant Coua
  • Panther Chameleon (Exhibit Animal)
Not bad, this is my personal choice though:
  1. Caribbean Flamingo
  2. Cuban crocodile
  3. Hawaiian goose
  4. Tree kangaroo
  5. Radiated tortoise
  6. White faced Whistling duck (Madagascar FTW!)
  7. Atlantic puffin (my cold weather species)
  8. Exhibit: IDK. Can be anything, chameleons or hermit crabs work for me.

The islands pack theme will never die will it? This is like the 6th time we've come to an idea of oh actually we could still get these animals and comes up with a great pack somehow.
Not as long as I’m around, THE DREAM WILL LIVE ON! DONT LET THE FLAME DIE OUT

4 birds, the probability of this is likely to be even below a SA animal pack.

I think many people would be very upset if they need to pay again for the animals they already paid in PZ.

Essential for base game (at least one giant tortoise and/or the sulcata), but make it significantly bigger. Could also use some tinkering to make its slow speed less of an issue in franchise.

Whether they would is another question entirely, but I don't think they need to keep certain animals back to sell DLCs much if they're going to introduce flyers and aquatics for a sequel, or even just one or the other. I would have understood it more back when we were getting animals like capybaras, meerkats, and kangaroos as headliners, but now? We got a Pallas's cat and a wisent as headliners - not unpopular animals by any means but not nearly on the level of the previous ones -, not to mention nearly an entire pack full of African hoofstock, which I don't think are exactly the most marketable animals to the average person either. I'm sorry but I think having sharks, manatees, parrots, eagles, owls, sea turtles, reef fish, etc will still be plenty to sell DLC, not to mention the regular habitat species left out in the first game that are super popular with the general public like the walrus... and that's just assuming they have to be popular with the general public at all. This is a game for animal nerds after all, and again, we got a wisent of all animals as a headliner, which I don't think the average person outside of Eurasia knows anything about (tbh Eurasia and Arid both feel like fan-made wishlist packs by someone who really likes ungulates to me lol)

I'm not totally against rebuying in the way some other people are - although pretty much only for a lot of animals with poorer models that could use an upgrade, and even then I'd much rather they just get remodeled for the base game - I'm just saying that I really don't think it's all too necessary most of the time.
