They only really remade the Ankylodocus, everything else is virtually the same model as it was in JWE1

They remastered the muttaburasaurus cause of the new scientific findings and resized a lot of the movie Dinos like the triceratops and stegosaurus. But you’re right about general models because they’re pretty movie accurate as is but I really think we can use these adjustments to conclude PZ will have similar adjustments (on this case more accurate models)
The models are the same, they just changed what animations the Muttaburrasaurus uses and the scaling of some animals. Meanwhile PZ has gotten scaling changes without needing a whole new game.

The stegosaurs and ankylosaurs got resized, some animals got new designs like Chungkingosaurus and Gigantspinosaurus, there were improvements to the skin system, I think these are fairly equivalent to the various remasters and size changes requested for most animals, I think these kind of changes would bring almost every animal from the base game and the first year of support up to acceptable standards
Those just got different textures to accommodate the game's new colour + pattern variant system. The overall designs are the same. When people ask for remasters, they want complete overhauls as seen in the Ankylodocus.
Tbh, I feel making a Google Forms poll would give you much better results if you want to make a poll
However, Frontier mods don't allow it so you can use a PZ discord for sample size

Fair enough. Still Planet zoo has shown that it is not necessary to have a whole dlc to change models (Tapir, Dhole, Amur Leopard, Binturong, Striped Hyena, posture of Black Rhino, size changes) They can easily do it during the development time between games
Did I say they needed DLC to change models? My argument was that we shouldn't expect overhauls between games because that didn't happen with JWE
Surely the improvements in graphics and more details from jwe1 to the sequel is roughly equivalent to the minor texture improvements and model changes most animals need
Honestly there really aren't that many graphical differences between JWE1 and JWE2. The two games are very similar visually. Same goes for PC1 and PC2
I think that, as far as animal model improvements between PZ1 and the hypothetical PZ2 go, we can't really predict what'll happen... but, with that being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we got major improvements/rehauls for a handful of base-game animals, probably the ones that the community has most collectively dunked on (male lion, Bactrian camel, etc.) alongside minor texture improvements and basically no other major changes besides that. I think the a lot of the DLC animals are of high enough quality that they probably wouldn't look too out of place directly ported into PZ2.
To be honest they were always more restrictive when it came to the JWE, and had much more love and freedom for Planet Zoo. Their DLCs and Updates always significantly lacked behind ours. So just because it didn't happen in JWE, doesn't mean we can't expect it in PZ.

For me, it would be in 'doesn't need to make it but sure', but I recognize there are a bunch of European players. It's a pretty iconic and good small mammal from that part of the world. I don't have a very strong opinion on which European small mammal(s) are added, as long as Canada gets its beaver. I think it belongs in 'Save for DLC'. It's not on the same level as many of the European picks, some of which I see as core additions, but it's pretty good. I like this badger.
I hope they repair this bug where animals lose their fur/hair when viewed from a distance, or become black shadows like what happens to the Bingturong. If they just copy all models from PZ1 and don’t even improve the ugly models, I won’t even buy the game, but I’m sure that isn’t the case
