Common Wombat - Save for DLC. An excellent animal to fill out Australia, but not a strict necessity for the base roster. Could potentially be replaced by another wombat species.

European Fallow Deer - Essential. Base game should absolutely have a deer, and I think this is the best pick as it is one of the most common zoo animals.

Animal #32 - European Fallow Deer

Which category does it fit into?
  • Essential for Planet Zoo 2 Base Game
  • Save for PZ2 DLCs/Deluxe
  • Doesn’t need to make it but sure
  • Can be left out entirely
Considering how we barely had anything for Europe like a deer, I'll go essential with this one even if I still prefer the red deer due to how common fallow deer are in zoos.

Doesn't mean much to me but I'd say Essential as by far the most common captive deer globally and especially in Europe. In America it's also very common in unaccredited zoos/safari parks but near-absent in the AZA (I think Bronx might have Persian fallow?)

red deer is ugly and can be replaced by elk
and how exactly is the red deer ugly?

Oh the irony when elk and red deer look very much alike
There is nothing wrong with ugly animals, most of my favorites are ugly animals. But in the case of the red deer, wapiti or elk is a FAR superior species that is bigger, so in this case better. I love Fallow Deer though, togeter with Red River Hog and Peacock they are the Vanity Smurfs of animal kingdom.
