Planet Zoo 2 Speculation and ideas

Me too
One of the best models of the game in general, just look at the Buffalo or the addax is so so beautiful, i mean, yea, another bird would be cool but i love them so much
As beautiful as they are i have yet to find an use for the saiga and the Nile lechwe. And i would most deffinetly get rid of the standard donkey and the generic pig we got. Springbok is kind of redundant and while i love all the ungulates in Arid i can love without the dama gazelle. And i would trade all that for birds and maybe one of them for the blackbuck. And as much as i like the Dall sheep now that we have three other charismatic and popular mountain caprids i would trade it galdly for a musk ox, although in case of the Arctic pack the Arctic wolf is a better sacrifice if only the base game wolf would come with an Arctic wolf variant (in a world where doesn't look like crap that is).

These two are a pain, especially the african crocodile. It's probably the absence I feel the most often when building because it fits in so many builds, and the saltwater croc is massive and doesn't really jive with an african setup.
Same. And honestly just like with springbok i would get rid of the saltie in base game and just put the Nile crocodile instead.

If you could bring the exhibit species up to 2 in every DLC, what would you add?
*Arctic: well idk what i would add for even one so other people can help with that lol
*Australia: so many more options here but i would go with something cool like thorny devil.
*South América: Emerald tree boa or eyelash viper.
*Aquatic: mata mata turtle
*South East Asia: tokay gecko
*África: gaboon viper
*Europe: European adder
*North América: alligator snapping turtle. They are Big but don't move. I would prefer them for habitat but i'm ok with them as exhibit.
*Conservation: titikaka lake frog
*Grasslands: rainbow agama
*Wetlands: Green anaconda
*Oceanía: Tuatara... I mean it was the obvious choice for the box.
*Twilight: the moths that no one want apparently
*Arid: uromastyx
*Tropical: Panther chameleon (or any tropical chameleon really)
*Eurasia: chinese giant salamander or Orchid mantis for variety's sake.
* Barnyard: beehives and ant colonies as new types of exhibits.
*Zookeeper's: Indian Cobra and more butterfly species.

You could do european adder and woodfrog in arctic, as that are the only two that somewhat fit atleast that i can think of
And then put jeweled lacerta in europe instead

Genuinly everybody who keeps hating on the nile lechwe really should just give it a shot and fall in love like everybody else aswell.
Its a beautiful antelope that likes water.
The most fun habitat builds incorporate water.
Having a swampy habitat compared to your usual ungulate grassland slog is very different and imo mich more fun.
Thats literally all the same reasons why the buffalo is the best bovid, semi aquatic ungulates are just very fun to build for

I could name 100 exhibit species I'd love to see in PZ2, and that's not even counting ones for walktrough exhibits. It's weird how few there are when they're comparatively much easier to make than habitat animals.
Mod Exhibit Species are infinitely better then the low quality stains, please more Official habitat Species

If you could bring the exhibit species up to 2 in every DLC, what would you add?

  • Arctic - Wood Frog + Siberian Salamander
  • South America - Emerald Tree Boa
  • Australia - Thorny Devil
  • Aquatic - Dusky Sea Snake
  • Southeast Asia - King Cobra
  • Africa - Panther Chameleon

getting rid of the only oceanic habitat animals in the base game to add yet another african animal is madness
While this is true, getting Nile crocodile in the base game and the freshwater crocodile in Wetlands later (with the spectacled caiman moving to Aquatic and replacing the dwarf caiman) is honestly an arrangement I would have been perfectly fine with - it just means Australia gets the higher quality crocodile haha. Of course if we just got the Nile crocodile in the base game and then no additional crocodiles in DLCs (oops all alligatorids!!) then I'd be sad.

I would be happy with this arrangement but saying that the base game should exist without a single oceanic animal and that there shouldnt be a one in a dlc for half a year is still insane.

I mean it's not like having only a single Oceanian habitat animal makes Oceania usable in any capacity anyway, you can't really make a reasonable Australian area with a crocodile, two snakes and a cockroach. It's kind of screwed whichever way you go about it.

It has to be one of the most over-hated animals in the game lol. It's one of our most unique antelope, yet the one that came in the next DLC gets all the love when it adds way less apart from people clamouring for it for being "extinct in the wild" which it isn't even anymore lol. (I don't hate the scimitar-horned but I've never found it to be a really exciting addition either)

Ironic that it comes with the spec caiman in the same pack, another comically overhated animal, but there it atleast died down somewhat because people actually used them and noticed that, and now thats crazy, sometimes frontier knows what their doing and that the spec caiman has propaply the perfect size for a crocodillean in this game that isnt to large for indoor builds but also easy to spot.

Of all 7 dlc antelopes, the lechwe is essily the second best after the dik dik, some people just dont know it yet cause all they see is an antelope they dont know

Deluxe - Frill-necked lizard and Burmese rock python
Arctic - European common adder and moor frog
South America - Amazon Basin emerald tree boa
Australia - Inland taipan
Aquatic - Titicaca water frog
Southeast Asia Animal - Sunda Shelf king cobra
Africa - Meller's chameleon
North America Animal - Common collared lizard
Europe - Aesculapian snake
Wetlands Animal - Philippine sailfin lizard
Conservation - Fiji banded iguana
Twilight - African death's-head hawkmoth
Grasslands Animal - Already five exhibit animals
Tropical - Seba's short-tailed fruit bat
Arid - Woma python
Oceania - Emerald tree monitor
Eurasia Animal - Iranian fat-tailed gecko
Barnyard Animal - Long-tailed chinchilla and golden hamster (two relatively inactive animals that could live in the standard exhibit)
Zookeepers Animal - Plumed basilisk and Amazonian matamata

I think there's a way we could do the opposite too. Here's a proposed list of habitat non-avian reptiles that aims to "round things out", so-to-speak:
  • West African Crocodile
  • Cuban Crocodile
  • Lace Monitor
  • Crocodile Monitor
  • Argentine Black-&-White Tegu
  • Bolson Tortoise
  • Asian Forest Tortoise
  • Marine Iguana (not a realistic addition but very reasonable for exploring reptile diversity)

Not having a croc for África is even more insane. Like Chuditch said the Oceanian croc can come later. And we got all the true important Oceanian animals later on. You don't do anything with just the saltwater crocodile in the base game.

My attempt at an Oceanian area before the australia pack came out would beg to differ. There's nothing to do with just the one animal.
