Planet Zoo | Americas Animal Pack | Announce

Damn yall are really desperate if you're buying pure slop, you're just showing that it's ok for them to push slop. Please instead support the modders who still care about the game.
I think it might be time for a name change..

Just let people be excited for the pack. You can be upset or disappointed (no coati has me feeling that way too sort of) but trying to make people feel bad because they're happy with the animal selection is weird. Also maybe wait until all the animals are shown before making declarations about quality?

Putting aside all of the very dramatic comments about animal quality, and the like, this pack feels like a pack of filler animals for the Americas. It feels like a pack you drop after you’ve already put the headline animals in the game. Good news is all we need now Are those said headliner animals. If we can get coati, spider/ howler, mara, walrus, sea otter, then the Americas are in an amazing position.

Now to give my rankings and opinions

White faced saki: 10/10: an absolutely needed addition our second New World monkey after years of begging for one and it looks great and I hope it has sexual dysmorphism

Greater Rhea: 10/10: another necessary pick for South America representing a brand new region that has barely been tapped into and an animal that has absolutely rose in popularity in recent years due to its Internet fame what more can you ask for?

Bush Dog: 9/10: one of the few canids left that I really really wanted so I’m really happy to have them in the game very unique and I can’t wait to see how these guys look

Ocelot: 8/10: one of the few cats I really wanted left finally in the game really represents something new for the Americas and I’m excited to use them

American Flamingo:8/10: a clone animal that I personally really needed for my zoos. It’s great to see them in game and I’m happy that we have another variant of flamingos.

Bighorn: 6/10: I like ungulates and I’m happy to have a warm weather caprine but I would much rather that this have been a deer instead I’m still gonna find use for them because they are useful and they’re versatile. They’re also beautiful animals

Coyote: 4/10: I mean, yeah they’re here. They really felt like they took a spot from an animal that deserved it more. They’re very versatile though so I will give them that and I will definitely have a lot of uses for them.

That the pack includes a monkey means that it is a must-buy and pulls it up a bit. For the other choices, I like the (unexpected) bush dog and can see why the Rhea’s in. Personally, I’d have preferred a coati, Mara, another monkey than the other choices even though, other than the coyote they’re not bad per-se, just suboptimal.

Overall looks like a middle-of-the-road pack, maybe top half, but there were definitely missed opportunities. TBH, I’d still like another SA pack to get some of those other animals in.

Its not bad, its as much as speaking lovingly against it and telling everyone to show support. Its also not declaring its a public opinion, something you can ignore.

To everyone critiquing can we just be happy that there is continuing support? Like how incredible is it that we are still getting packs five years later.

We also have zero idea on what frontier has planned for the future, there very well maybe a good reason the coati and smaller monkies were not included, who knows what the future holds. Let's just enjoy instead of acting like spoilt children
Great Statement, I see you're point of view but its not really spoiled children as we are paying for it.

Also, where has everyone been bringing the statement that we should still show love for them continuing. They literally see us as money bags lmao. They do not care about us and will stop till its no longer profitable.

Everyone can speak Out critics. But this should Happen in an objective way. People must Not Like the rooster and the easiest solution ist to Just Not buy the pack If IT should be such Bad for someone. Nobody forces us to buy a Pack. But I hold it with you. I am personally just Happy that WE still geht Support. And every additional is a good Animal for me.

Oh totally forgot doing the classic ranking, heres my take:

Saki and Rhea: 10/10: Both are nessecary additions for south america, one is a generic and very common in zoos monkey and the other is the nr.1 space filler, something not very present yet besides the lama as the rhea fundamentally fills the role that ungulates fill elsewhere and can nicly be mixed with other animals or just fill a paddock on their own. The two reasons to buy the pack

Ocelot: 8/10: Just an allround usefull animal that can swim, can climb, can walk, perhaps even able to dive if frontier arnt cowards and just a good buffer animal for literally any biome of south and central america thats warmer then a temperate climate, being found in jungles, grasslands, savannah, swamps, deserts, thorny forests, farm land and more. Also doesnt hurt that they are the most beautiful cat imo

Bush dog: 6/10: Big drop but i have to admit that while im not fond of the animal it got reasons to be here, as it contrasts greatly with the maned wolf and is one of our first small ground critters for the tropical rainforest, even if its not the one i wanted. Allright animal, personally wont get much use out of them if at all though

Bighorn sheep: 4/10: Just like the flamingo its a wonderfully boring choice, if the big horn sheep was a spice it would be flour, especally as the 4. caprid in a row. It has some objective good traits in being a partly hot climate sheep like the markhor and that it brings a larger ungulate for north american deserts thats destinct from the peccary and a smaller one for the other biomes they are in, but the fact that their biggest boon is looking like a mouflon really does say it all. Ill use it as a mouflon, i can see why people would use it for itself

American Flamingo: 3/10: This is a flamingo but red, no this does not whoo me, no im not dying for the chance to use it, its as close to a colormorph as new animals get. Most likly will get used but i literally do not care, this should have been a roseate spoonbill or scarlet ibis

Coyote: 1/10: It isnt a 0 because any animal is an additon, but im really not stretching when i say that it feels like an active insult to the community. Im sure some people will get their use out of it, but i cant help but see it as an expression of all of frontiers worst traits channeld into a single animal, especally with the fact that its the headliner. Im honest, if this was an coati, the pack would have been decent, pretty good even if not exactly what i wanted with some baffling choices as allways, but with the coyote it feels like an active insult. This is not aggainst anyone that likes the coyote, im happy for you guys that you can appreciate something i cant but this animal just represents every single reason why i am fed up with frontier to a degree it must be satire. So yeah, truly an addition :)

All I have seen is people being impressed/pleased support has continued for this long. And yes, critique is also valuable and if it doesn't meet your standards, you can say that. However saying people that like the pack are "desperate for slop" is harsh and I think you know that.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion. Although it seems though you've made up your mind about the quality (like how the saki will move or if it'll have sexual dimorphism) without seeing them in action?

Frontier is a company charging us for their product, yes i am happy to still get dlc and animals but that doesnt make them immune to very valid deserved criticism. If we all just shut up and give them our money no matter what we get we might aswell not write here, speculate, present our wishes and arguments for why we want what we want and what we think whats best for the game cause if this pack showed anything its that frontier does not listen anymore, or atleast only very very picky in what they hear.

We chanted for south america to the heavens for years, we said what we want loud and clearly and what did we get?

An americas pack with 2 lacklaster north american animals slapped in that were neither discussed or popular, even when there was an ungulate and carnivoran from north america that very much were heavily discussed and wanted in the musk ox and american black bear, got the one monkey the majority of people didnt care for while they were busy screaming howler or spider, we got 2 birds, one a nessecary addition the other a paint job, none of them terribly different from the birds we got in game, and of the 3 carnivorans we got in the pack none were the one everybody and their mother were hoping for. So yeah frontier took the most wanted dlc theme and butcherd it in a way that its still allright by the sheer strenght of the theme alone, which is only because of how much frontier neglected not just south america but especally monkeys. Call me crazy, call me ungratefull, but the only that truly makes the pack worth buying is the saki and why? Cause its a monkey, and thats why people will buy the pack even if its as underwhelming as it could have been.

And that is best case unfortunate and in the worst case just scummy on frontiers part

Casual reminder that we're paying for these new animals. This isn't Frontier giving these to us for free thanks to the kindness from their hearts. They are charging for a product, we shouldn't be afraid of telling companies when something doesn't meet our standards.
But you do Not have to buy the Product. Frontier does Not force you to click onto the Steam Buy Button. The only way to tell a company that the product is Not Meeting youtlr Personal standard ist to Not buy this product.

I am sorry if you feel offended or @FoxyDee and I hope you accept my apology
No harm done. I fully understand not being fan of the animal picks, it just feels very unfair to call the animals slops just because they reuse a rig. If we could at least wait to see them in game first and wait with the final judgement, that would be much more constructive. It just feels very disrespectful to the artists that made them, because for the most part, these animals look amazing.

@Villanelle thank you, that is so nice of you ❤️

I said it might not have sexual dimorphism, also the saki monkey might actually be literally the capuchin rig seeing the quality of animals go down since Eurasia.
