Planet Zoo | Americas Animal Pack | Announce

How do I tell Frontier that I want more primates without supporting the needless addition of more dogs? Voting with your wallet is sadly a less functional option when the good and bad are part of the same package.
But it is only your personal opinion that those animals are needless. For me, the Bush Dog clearly is Not needless and I wanted the Ocelot. Frontier cannot make everyone Happy with one single Pack as WE all have different priorities. And they can clearly Not make someone completely Happy with one Pack (perhaps there are some exceptions). And as I guess that the Team working on PZ is probably much smaller than a few years or spent some time with Different Projects, WE will probably Not get that big highlight packs as it perhaps was the case within the First two years.
Between No Support or reduced Support I would Always choose the last choice as WE still get at least 1 or 2 more "high effort" animals.

Edit: Nevertheless I am Happy to welcome the Saki and Hope at least for the Black Howler Monkey as a Future Addition.

What's sad is they are obnoxiously avoiding players support and feedback and this will be a continuous trend until they actual see some type of action to stop. I've seen hundreds of comments on posts, videos, forums about how the community feels about certain animals and what should be the next animals to add.

I feel people can argue that instead of high quality content being pushed from beginning I would say it started in the Africa or Southeast Asia Animal pack as Australia, South America, and Arctic seem more base game then current.

Which part of this answers my dilemma of deciding if I end up funding something I don't support or refusing to fund something I do support?

Frontier is a company charging us for their product, yes i am happy to still get dlc and animals but that doesnt make them immune to very valid deserved criticism. If we all just shut up and give them our money no matter what we get we might aswell not write here, speculate, present our wishes and arguments for why we want what we want and what we think whats best for the game cause if this pack showed anything its that frontier does not listen anymore, or atleast only very very picky in what they hear.

We chanted for south america to the heavens for years, we said what we want loud and clearly and what did we get?

An americas pack with 2 lacklaster north american animals slapped in that were neither discussed or popular, even when there was an ungulate and carnivoran from north america that very much were heavily discussed and wanted in the musk ox and american black bear, got the one monkey the majority of people didnt care for while they were busy screaming howler or spider, we got 2 birds, one a nessecary addition the other a paint job, none of them terribly different from the birds we got in game, and of the 3 carnivorans we got in the pack none were the one everybody and their mother were hoping for. So yeah frontier took the most wanted dlc theme and butcherd it in a way that its still allright by the sheer strenght of the theme alone, which is only because of how much frontier neglected not just south america but especally monkeys. Call me crazy, call me ungratefull, but the only that truly makes the pack worth buying is the saki and why? Cause its a monkey, and thats why people will buy the pack even if its as underwhelming as it could have been.

And that is best case unfortunate and in the worst case just scummy on frontiers part
In the beginning I absolutely thought Frontier could never mess up an Americas pack and my goly am I wrong

Probably nothing of my text. This can only answered by yourself 😃.

Besides this discussion I Had Just a Look Back onto my original Meta Wishlist. With the Ocelot I got now 19 of my 20 original Animal choices into the Game. Perhaps thats why I am still such a supporter of the packs 😅

From what we have seen so far, the animals looks at least comparable to Grasslands-ish quality. Some a little better, some might be a little worse. But a fine place to land, since they feel usable close to many of the DLC animals over time as well as the better of the base game species. That is fine for me, as long as their behavior and sound isn't a mess (still mad at the sifaka and donkeys)

It is really only the coyote that annoys me with this pack and the fact it features two canines. The saki I'm super happy with and the bighorn sheep is just too good of a match for a project of mine for me to be mad at it (even though it overall isn't a very good choice). The rest are animals I always somewhat expected and therefore are quite at peace with, the birds being the more exciting part of them. Even though both of them I mostly saw the potential in, if they came with good match for mixed species habitat. The flamingo with another bird and the rhea with the mara. Without they seem much less exciting to me.

Agree with most of your point but I think for the saki it was more no one was asking for it because they didn't think it had a chance, not that people didn't care for it.
Fair, personally it was my most wanted monkey so selfishly i can say im happy they went against the consensus there, doesnt change the fact that they did though in a topic that was discussed often, openly and loudly with 3 leading choices of black howler, geoffreys spider and goldenlion tamarin. Im very happy with the saki, my personal best outcom, but it defenetly was another tone deaf decision that stacked on the rest, just one with a pretty good outcome

White faced Sakis are my favorite animal irl so I love them a lot, I just don't want frontiers recent low quality to make some knock off version of the real playful and fast ones

(They're babies are so cute)

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this DLC. It's wonderful that after six years we're still getting more animals. However, I have mixed feelings about this DLC: on one hand, I love the ocelot and the bush dog (they were on my personal wishlist), but on the other, I'd rather have the coati and the mara.

This situation reminds me of when the Tasmanian devil was number 1 on the community wishlist for many months, but we never got it until we got it in the Oceania DLC. Frontier knows we want the coati, yet they haven't given it to us in the DLC that seemed perfect for its inclusion. Strange...

It only makes me optimistic about the future. I think there are more DLCs to come, and that at least some of them will include the coati.

Do you guys think they will make actual baby sakis or a mini version of adult

Nah they just went with the saki because you can reasonably slap that on the capuchin, and therefore is by far the easiest to do.
