Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack | Announce

Deserve this, deserve that.

The fact remains, frontier comes off easily with this copy-paste work, and that probably for their last breath/pack, it is criminal.
I can tell by ur username, u love Fossa, right? U got that animal in the game. and maybe there are people's that weren't the biggest fan, but still, frontier can't please everyone. and u don't like it? don't buy it. and I can tell it's probably not the last pack..

Community vs Frontier.

Asks for nigerian dwarf goat and markhor, gets agressive Alpine goat.
Asks for pheasants and guineafowl and more birds in general gets basic chicken
Asks for duck and rabbits gets 6th pig and donkey
Asks for more South american animals (a huge ton of them ) gets the alpaca (llama n° 2).

It would be funny if it wasn't so... Cruel.

On my way to pay 9.99 for epic chicken (y)

yeah, but no, Fossa are not my favorite animals, they are in my top 20, but not even in top 10, Sable Antelope is my favorite animal, followed by Cassowary, see a theme? Aggressive? Feared? I love those beasts, especially when they don't eat meat but still are feared.

I already have most of my favorite animals, but I want ALL of them in the game, I'm greedy. (Especially for animals that modders can't create good versions of)

I've been part of this forum for a very long time and I'm sad to see how it is becoming such a negative place. With every new DLC many people complain because they take for granted it was the last pack and didn't include what they wanted. However here we are still getting new dlcs and updates. Yes, they are not as big or ground-breaking as they used to be, and they have many "clones", but bearing in mind that we are so far in development we are very lucky that we are still getting things. We all have different tastes and it's OK to dislike a new dlc, but some users seem to be mad with every single new dlc or update. I honestly don't know why they keep playing a game that they don't like anymore.

The souvenir shops from update 1.16 and petting zoos from 1.17 have been resquested for ages.
A new smaller gater for walk-through habitats has been requested for ages.
I've seen content creators buidling custom hay bales for ages.
We have been asked more more ungulates for ages.

It would be nice to judge the new pack for what it is and not for what it isn't. The pack and update bring many often resquested things. Another proof that Frontier does listen to us. Yes, we are still missing birds, and monkeys, and more South Americna animals, and a rabbit and a duck, but we are no longer waiting for petting zoos, or swans, or Tasmanian devils or porcupines. If months go by and then we don't receive a new DLC, only then we will be able to say that XXX pack was the last one, and then it will be ok to say if that pack was a bad final pack or not.

Again, it is OK to give your oipinion and criticism. I have already said that I wish we had had a rabbit in this pack and a different goat species. However the continous negative atmosphere based on just uncertain assumptions is really tiring.

Sorry for my rant.

Yeah no duh we kinda got that. Now put yourself in someone else’s shoes, imagine someone who wants domestics the most and barely has any of their favourites in the game yet, this pack is probably a dream for them. Nobody cares how much you hate this pack, stop complaining and don’t buy it. Case closed.

Well said! I wish I could like this post more than once. 🙏

Well, you all do seem to care a lot, given all the responses you give this hungry monster...

At least I'm being honest, rude of course, I'm a Sable/Ratel/Cassowary/Fossa lover, the villain always, you tell me you don't care for my complains yet keep replying to me which is not being honest at all, the ignore button is easy to find I heard from others.

I cannot stand that this pack is chosen before other packs, it is just pathetic in my eyes, so no, I'm not happy for others in this case, I don't want bird/aquatic pack, but at least in those cases I would be somewhat pleased for others and even a little bit for myself, this pack is just an outrage, and I'm glad that others feel the same way.

Your entire post was very well-put! I understand the criticisms but some of it feels very over the top... But I've called out the section I quoted above from your post specifically because of how accurate it is.

This pack brings a lot of highly-requested features and some incredibly useful scenery items. If I'm being real about it, this pack is worth it for the scenery alone if you're a builder. I would tweak the animal roster a bit if I could, and I'm a little sad that my hopes for getting certain species in-game have decreased (e.g., tree kangaroo, a few of the Latin American species), but I find it really hard to call this a "bad" pack that brings something to the table people have been clamoring for since before the game was even released...

TBH, I bet most of these people will wind up buying it anyway at some point and saying "Oh, actually, this pack is kinda sick. The scenery is amazing and useful and I really like (insert two animal species here) after all." This inevitably happens with some of these packs. I'm specifically thinking of Twilight here but Tropical and Oceania also fall into this category from what I remember.

I think a lot of the bluster is more about what we didn't get which... Y'know, is not going to change. So why complain about it? Haha. If it's the last pack, there's literally nothing we can change. And if there's one more down the road? It won't be another barnyard pack. So we're good either way. LOL

I actually like the update SO i agree with you. But even if the pieces are good they are not enough incentive for me to spend dollars in this pack where the only animal i care about is the Highland cow.

Never cared about domestics and this hasn't change anything in that regard.

But yeah good for those that actually would enjoy this.

We only have to wait a week to hand-feed animals in the game, so let's stop feeding the angry trolls here and enjoy what we have.

Also, I love the argument that "resources were spent on clones" while the whole point of clones is that they take fewer resources. And in this case they seem well-spent on some cool scenery and new animations.

I for one am very excited for this pack, as it's the first or second one that's truly innovative when it comes to the kind of things you can build with it. What every pack did so far is add new animals - some of them very unique, many of them with new exciting behaviours - yet they were all zoo animals for which you kinda build the same stuff. There's your big barren habitat ungulates, there's semi-aquatics, there's carnivores that need a semi-enclosed habitat, there's tree dwellers and there's small species. All animals are cool and have something unique, yet in the end it still gets a bit repetitive. However, petting zoos are such a specific part of zoos and so different from anything else that it adds much more to gameplay in my opinion than any other pack (besides Aquatic) has done so far. Hence, it's an outstanding pack, IF it's not the last one (and this is where Frontier is really lacking. Please give us some confirmation).

If we're getting more DLCs (based on the timeline we may get three this year if support continues till Winter), I'm hoping we will get some more unique section-based packs. I'm not expecting aviaries or aquatics, but maybe a reptile house DLC (with bits of new scenery, exhibit updates and more than one exhibit species) or even a coastal pack.
