Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack | Announce

I was not expecting this! But it’s a great pack, animals look great again and those hay pieces will make our backstage areas look even more realistic. Love how the ppl interact with the animals in the trailer. Good job if you ask me.

To all the hater: This theme was highly requested, alpacas are from South America and the world is not going to end (even support might not be yet)

All I see in those photo's of those product-cows is an error that took the place of the Wild Yak or Gaur, both which are far superior to those beefs on legs.
Haha, I can’t stop laughing. I don’t agree with you but I guess in real life you would have beaten me whit this argument because I’m to much out of air to even react. For the rest of my life when I see a cow I will think of beef on legs

Here’s my opinion
Did I think they were gonna do a petting zoo dlc? No
I think frontier is gonna show us how cool it’s gonna see to have guests interact with these animals and we will appreciate it.
With that in mind, I believe the update will also make peafowl, llamas and prarie dogs able to bond with guests.
This will give us something to do for our existing zoos.
The animal line up, im not very excited for.
Yes all these types of animals are needed to complete the barnyard representation.
1. Sussex chicken, I don't have an opinion
2. Highland cattle: certainly good looking cattle and il welcome them
3. Alpaca: very happy, I used to raise alpacas, really hoping they come with a lot of color morphs.
4. Standard donkey: I really would have perfer a pony
5. Radnor sheep: cmon why not the Valais black nose or the Jacob sheep
6. Tamworth pig: cmon over the Vietnamese potbelly!?
7. Alpine goat: I got nothing

8 could have been a WTE turtle pond or a lagomorph!

Frontier, im sure the team did a great job making the new features and really analyzing what features may come in the game. I’m sure we will all enjoy it. Please don’t be the last dlc.

I just can’t love the Alpaca lol not only for the fact that it is probably the least wanted South American animal ever as well as how goofy the fluff looks in game, makes me kinda worried about my baboon friend.

I really was not expecting this.
On one hand I'm quite pleased because this doesn't feel like a closing pack. Just my speculation of course but this gives me hope that support isn't ending.
I'm also super pleased to see new mechanics like guest interactions, hand wash stations etc, things like this are what make our zoos feel real and alive.
On the other hand, I'm struggling to get too excited about the animals. The chicken looks fun, and I love highland cows so that's awesome, but the others are leaving me a little cold. I really have no interest in another pig, or an alpaca. Ducks would have been nice, maybe a shire horse.
I doubt I'll rush to buy this on launch day - I might pick it up in a future sale.
Maybe new promo pictures/videos will change my mind.

(Also lol @ "highly requested")

Hmmm... I mean it's a very good pack that opens up a style of play not previously available.... but also not necessarily one I'm that bothered by myself?

Alpaca I'll probably use, but I think I'd have got more mileage out of it personally if it had had mallard/turkey and/or guinea fowl?

Oh no.

Oh yuck.

This is so disappointing I feel sick. Please don’t let this be the last pack.

Legit want to cry. Another donkey? A goat? An alpaca? I… we could have had birds.
Great news!

Why are you guys just always like this is the last pack? This seems to have actually been an easy pack to bring up compared to others while a majority of the team was getting console edition off its feet, having one less animal among seven animals similar to existing ones that don’t stretch too far into uniqueness allowed this pack to still happen. I will say this is a lovely surprise for a pack and an update, Animal encounters are very exciting additions. But I don’t believe this to be the last pack, just one of the easier dlc options that could have been made while a whole new version of the game was being released and worked on. But great surprise Pack, I was on the fence about whether we were going to get a pack this season at all.

It’s a shame we didn’t get the Watusi, could’ve been used as both a petting zoo and a wild animal in a zoo setting. I’m fine with the highland cattle but this one would’ve made me way more pleased with the pack. What a shame.

That almost all of the breeds are from the UK is one of my main points of concern about this pack. So, I would have welcome a swap like that. HOWEVER... Just imagine the insane hitbox that a Watusi would have in this game 😳 And the Highland cattle is a good and well known breed, I'm not unhappy with the choice, although I agree that Watusi cattle is extremely cool.

I'm all for barnyard animals, but oof this roster ain't it. I would've strongly preferred getting a zebu, a turkey, a dwarf goat, Kunekune or Vietnamese potbelly for the pig, some sort of duck, a rabbit. Any kind of exhibit animal even if it's something as mundane as a green anole. What is this roster lol
Kind of agree. I’m excited if this isn’t the last pack as domestics have always been missing. But would’ve much weathered other stuff if it is the final pack. Update seems great too.

But for the animals
1. Chicken is cool, but maybe would’ve just gone for ‘domestic chicken’ with several different skins representing different breeds.

2. Highland Cow - decent

3. Alpine Goat - Odd choice, not particularly infamous, and we already have the Alpine Ibex with a similar name and look. Nigerian Dwarf Goat would’ve been my choice..

4. Alpaca - yeah okay this is fine. Bit similar to the Llama but they often go hand in hand with llamas in zoos, it’s also a new animal that can spit I guess and technically more South American representation. Maybe the Rhea could’ve kind of worked instead?

5. Standard Donkey? Erm this should’ve 100% been a miniature donkey or a miniature pony - something to make it sufficiently unique from the ass and are more common in petting zoos.

6. Tamworth Pig - honestly I don’t mind this. A fairly standard pig although I can imagine people wanting a Kune Kune.

7. Hill Radnor Sheep - again, a standard sheep, I’m fine with this.

Personally my pack would’ve been
1. Domestic Chicken
2. Domestic Rabbit
3. Miniature Pony
4. Tamworth Pig
5. Hill Radnor Sheep
6. Nigerian Dwarf Goat
7. Highland Cow
