Planet Zoo: Eurasia Animal Pack arriving 13 Dec ❄️

Love this outake. At the end of the day I see the game like this and makes me appreciate many aspects of the fandom.
I like that take as well. We can't be expected to like or not like everything. Just like we can't expect other people to like or not like everything. I guess I was just really caught off guard by the initial "first day" reaction to the pack. Probably because I personally think it's a fantastic pack.

Don’t get me wrong I love the new pack and the work frontier puts into this game but if I had one universal gripe about frontier it’s their conservativeness. Refusing to push the envelope. There’s simply no reasonable or good excuse not to have at least on WE flying bird at this point. I still say the LA pack is a golden opportunity but of course it remains to be seen. I’ve already seen a couple content creators say if there’s no water parks in PC2 they’d probably walk away from the product. I mean there’s always the possibility of a sequel to PZ but I don’t really want to wait for a sequel just to accomplish something that pz1 is totally capable of.

I'm really happy we are finally getting an Exhibit Tortoise! This opens up many more possibilities like Pancake or Egyptian Tortoises.

Frontier is really mastering the art of Pack Roster Design. By making sure everyone has something they'll like in a Pack, you are ensuring a longer Support for us all! Almost every Segment in the Community has Animals they desperately need and don't want at all at the same time in this Pack. This is genius.

The thing about having no excuse for not including or as I've seen some say - ignoring - flying birds is a valid criticism. But that assumes the excuses or ignorance is because they're not aware of the situation. It doesn't hold up as well if their plan with flying birds is simply not to include them. Which I'm 99.99999% positive that's where they are with them.

We're not getting flying birds. We're not getting marine animals. We're not getting flying marine animals either. ;)

I know that's a hard thing to accept - believe me, I know. I've spent the entire last 15 months going from 99.999% positive all the way to where I am now. Nothing at all from this year has made me think flying birds are more likely, only less as releases go on...and ultimately not at all. Would I love to be completely blind sided by spring and be proven wrong with a bird pack or even just a single bird inclusion? Absolutely. It would be the best thing I could possibly want for the game...but it's not going to happen and I'm not going to hold out continued hope for it, only to be disappointed with each release that it's not birds.

I mean, I think we're at the point now where we can quietly point out that Frontier have settled into a pattern with WEs now where they are.present in regular packs and we get normal exhibits in Animal packs. Bar Grasslands it has been like that for four DLCs now. So tbh I'm not surprised at the lack of a walkthrough.

I also think it's fair to say if we do get a flying bird, it'll have to be more than one. Because there's just tons thst would need to be added. So it'd have to be some sort of expansion or, like JWE2, a sequal. Frontier have given no indication of any other type of DLC than what we've had for 4 years so I don't see a big expansion.

Now given PZ is likely in its final run for DLCs, and Frontier is having some financial woes, it seems logical for them to keep chugging out these easy to make packs that bring it reliable cash for a known quantity of effort to produce. They've been doing it for four years and it works.

So I guess people have to weigh up now the chances of a large aviary bird expansion coming this late in the game's life with the financial problems Frontier currently has vs the potential for a JWE-style sequal with expanded aviary/Aquatic features. My money is the latter.

This does feel like frontier has more to give. The last few packs have all given players some of what we want, but also some that no one wanted (or at-least barely anyone). This to me, shows that they have more planned.

I think the next future packs will have complete crowd pleasers for rosters. I would assume that the next packs will follow the same content pattern as what we have now, scenery packs having 2 new rigs /2 high effort and 2 clones, animal packs have 2 new rigs and 5 clones which honestly doesn’t sound as bad as it seems looking at this roster.

Out of the remaining top priority animals, there are very few that need new rigs. I would say a monkey (spider or howler), tree kangaroo (if we even get it) and Baboon (I NEED IT) are really the only ones that are examples of this. If we have 3 packs left, each with one of these in each one (ideally would be Latin America, Safari and Woodlands/Arboreal) that would be perfect. The rest like walrus, pelican, Markhor, SA residents, etc. all shouldn’t need new rigs and should be straight clones.

Just 1 flying WE bird would be plenty. Expecting a expansion of flying birds would be unrealistic despite being tons of birds obviously. Under the current format and system there’s no legitimate reason to fill the niche with 20-50 flying birds. I even doubt a sequel would have a outstanding amount of birds. I’ve always said some are better than none and at least one is saving grace at this point. Imo the macaw would give frontier the best chance at a flying bird especially considering they could do the same thing as the butterfly and get multiple examples. We don’t want another sloth we want a flying bird it’s that simple.

Not really. A niche antelope, a bear not hugely dissimilar from the Formosan, and an ungulate. These three things are not very high on most people's wishlists.
We have to keep in mind that if you don't add such Species along with some Popular Choices, they will never make it into the game. If the next 2-3 Packs all featured top 20 Meta-Wishlist Animals, then the Hype will die out and Sales will drop, ending Support quicker.

No they can't. Children can't separate from adults. That isn't how it works. AFAIK the entire guest system would need to be recoded to make playgrounds functional, because right now child guests only exist as part of a mass with adult guests. They aren't individual characters.
It can work like a standard Shop Queue (or like how the new Gift Shops work judging by the pics). Children just wait for their Parents in Queues without any special Animations and in the Playground it can be the opposite. Parents can wait at the entrance of a Playground (or next to each Ride) while the Children enter, do their Animations and join the Parents afterwards, while still being a Singular Entity. Even the Parents can play their own Animations from the side.

The tropical pack did fool us with a new tree which eventually turned out to be a cecropia sapling so could be a larger sapling but then I'm sure it's an oak tree sapling, it doesn't match the existing evergreen taiga trees and doesn't look 'new' enough for a new tree.
Having a look at the trailer again - I’m obsessed - I think this might be a larger sapling too

Actually nah, this aint the mountain pack remember?
It also only really added one mountain pack animal so thats really on the table
It added 2+1 (Wolverine and Takin, but also Wisent), but I agree that an Alpine or Mountain Pack is very much on the table. Actually the situation is better now, since now it can be a Scenery Pack with more Foliage and dedicated Scenery. I can already see a Log Cabin Theme that can also be used as generic North American as well. Frontier likes multipurpose theming.

Now that the wild boar is off the table, I would cancel the whole idea of a Temperate Pack honestly. Instead put the scenery theme that would've gone with that and put it towards a Mountains scenery pack with Markhor, Pallas Cat, Gelada and Spectacled Bear. Would be 🔥
Or a Forest pack could work. A mix of tropical and temperate forests. I think that'd be kinda cool.

Like, say a South American coati, a monkey, and then some temperate species, like the American black bear and a duck
