Planet Zoo: Eurasia Animal Pack arriving 13 Dec ❄️

Now that the wild boar is off the table, I would cancel the whole idea of a Temperate Pack honestly. Instead put the scenery theme that would've gone with that and put it towards a Mountains scenery pack with Markhor, Pallas Cat, Gelada and Spectacled Bear. Would be 🔥
I agree. The only reason I wanted a temperate pack was for a Wisent and Wild Boar (and, before Twilight, a Striped Skunk). Now I have no need - all the temperate species I NEEDED are in game.

Same here, though I wouldn't be upset with the ABB, Elk/Wapiti or Eurasian Otter. But I'm really good with none of them. Honestly, I'm really really happy with this pack, and that it contained so many animals from your Eurasian Pack idea - which I still think was a favorite of mine during the entire speculation.

I mean, we got the Wisent, Wolverine, Saiga Antelope and Wild Boar, the last of which I really did not expect after getting the Peccary last month. We got the Takin instead of the Muskox (which would still be great to get). Instead of the EBB we are getting the Sloth Bear, which I feel is a weird choice considering it's not an "Eurasian" animal, just Asian. And completely removing the Walrus spot, we got the Swan instead which I'm sure many people are happy for that. Exhibit animal completely different too, but it's almost like an afterthought for those now. The core of your pack idea is the same, and two similar replacements. Definitely a winning pack for me.

Anywaayss i just can't stop gushing over this pack but....Temperate pack is no longer necessary IMO. An Alpine/Highlands pack is still very much on the table, providing we get more than just one or two more packs. After this pack's roster, I can honestly wait as long as need be for whatever may or may not come. There will be time for mods when support ends, but right now I'm just incredibily happy with where the mammalian roster is. All they gotta do is buff up South American representation and I'm 100% good.

This pack doesn't even have highlands and mountains in the advertisement, well in the background map skirt of course but for a mountain pack I wanna see them do animals on hilly mountains, cliffs and canyons, etc. Out of all the mountain animals people wanted, the one they choose (takin) feels like the least mountain-y out of all of them, which I'm greatful for. If they keep with the schedule I could see a Mountains scenery pack in the fall or just maybe, spring (but thats more cause I want it very badly)

I still like the idea of a Temperate pack, ironically now more than ever. A native american scenery set is what most people seem to agree on as one of the obviously missing themes, and honestly i can imagine it coming out pretty cool, like tropical and oceania where its pretty themed but broken down pretty usefull in alot of settings.
And a roster of black bear, NA porcupine, muntjac and either a duck or pheasant seems to me like a pretty strong one

Honestly, we may ironically keep getting packs for a while. PZ is one of their few earners, not sure they'll want to cut off that revenue for a PZ 2, possibly even for a year or two. That said, frontier is very hard to read. People have been expecting support to end for at least two years now.

Sigh... I feel like some people are severely underestimating the viable options for certain themes...

Which is weird, because as far as I can tell, there's litterally no evidence to suggest they intend to end the game now, let alone two years ago..

But that same scenery set along side this trifecta..

Does not compare.

I mean, the roster is cool, but not with native American scenery. That'd be weird
Would also be cool. Idk Native american scenery just doesnt scream mountain to me
I think that we could get, say, a Forest pack (which imma fight for now), which can bring some temperate species as well as.some tropical. Would y'all be ok with a coati and/or monkey getting some native American scenery?
Wait, that sounds weird, too

The exhibit tortoise is actually a very neat addition. I never expected it to happen - I'd assumed that "tortoise" as a designation was just a habitat thing and therefore we'd be stuck without any small tortoises. I had hoped for the Greek tortoise under these circumstances but the one we're getting is fine too.

At the moment, I feel like I can seriously say: Europe is already well represented, let’s add those regions that are still lacking representation. (PS: The ungulates in Asia are mainly deer, antelopes and perhaps a wild ass. Of course, South America must be supplemented, as well as the polar regions)

Honestly speaking, but what would you say is needed for Asia to feel complete, or at least satisfactory?

Heck, where does one start?
  • Blackbuck.
  • Lion-tailed macaque.
  • Raccoon dog.
  • Himalayan monal.
  • Markhor.
  • Spectacled langur.
  • Celebes black macaque.
  • Fishing cat.
  • Pallas cat.
To name a few. All of the above have some significant zoo presence. That pretty much ignores the Middle East and fringe species, like, say, the Hamadryas baboon (Arabia), or the Urial (Caucasus Mountains). If we were willing to include clones, there's also the Sumatran tiger to contend with, which is IMO the most important clone animal missing from the game considering how common it is in captivity and how significant it is to conservation.

Half of these imo we don't need per say. Monal, Langur, Lion Tailed Macaque, Fishing Cat, Black Macaque, Raccoon Dog all feel more like good additions, but they dont hit me as essential.
There's no objective answer, so it doesn't really matter. The monal and fishing cat especially are very common zoo animals, moreso than half the animals we already have.

Edit: In any event I'd argue literally any monkey is essential right now.

Do you think this time free update become less as the modular gift shop is too complicated?
What?

Do you mean will the update be small because the gift shop feature is complex? If so, then probably yes, I doubt we'll see much more aside from that and the unnecessary tiger variants.
