A year ago, we posted our first Planet Zoo Monthly Catch Up! Together, we've all come a long way since then, and we hope you've enjoyed the journey so far.
Let's look back at what we got up to this month with Planet Zoo:

On the 12 May, we released Update 1.2.4, which is the most current version. If you haven't already, make sure your game is up-to-date includes changes to the fight notifications, fixes to single station transport rides and stability and crash fixes, as well as the highly-requested change to Llama habitats - guests can now walk through them! If you'd like to read the full list of Update Notes, you can do so here.

Principal Designer Jim Stimpson and Community Manager Chanté went live with HyperX and special guest DrGluon for a special Game Spotlight on their Twitch channel! This three hour stream included and interview, gameplay and a wild build-off (you can decide who won upon watching). You can watch it back here.

This month, we also ended our Ancient Animal Kingdom competition and chose our favourite entries, including our winner! Thanks to everybody who entered; our judges found it tough to choose their top picks, but we'd like to once again say a big well done to Nyth for their incredible entry called Lost Sanctum. You can view our runners up in this thread. Make sure you stay tuned for our next competition to be in for the chance to win an amazing prize: a Planet Zoo goodie bag!

We'd also like to say a huge thank you to our PlanZo Fam who voted for us in the Webby Awards! Planet Zoo won in the Strategy/Simulation category alongside Cooking Diary Restaurant Game. We appreciate all who took the time to vote for us, and it means a lot to the Planet Zoo team.

Throughout this month, there were some special animal days that we celebrated! On the 1 May, it was Save the Rhino Day, a day dedicated to bring attention to these magnificent animals and the plight they face in the world, as they are poached for their horns. Did you know, Rhinos are closely related to Horses and Zebras! Let's do our research and do what we can to ensure these animals can grow their numbers and live safer in the wild.

On the 15 May, it was Endangered Species Day, an important day globally as it is designed to help people learn more about the global issues all species face in the world. Zoos do a great job of helping to keep endangered species safe, but let's find out what more we can to do decrease the number of endangered species.

Last but not least, the final special animal day of this month was World Turtle Day, on the 23 May! This day was established to celebrate and protect both Tortoises and Turtles, and their disappearing habitats in the world. This animals can live to be much older than humans, yet due to the turmoil they face thanks to global warming and illegal trade, they can often perish at a young age. Think about ways we can protect these ancient animals from exploitation, and do what you can to educate others!

As we do at the end of our Monthly Catch Ups, let us take a look back at all the Zoopedia Facts we've shared throughout the month:
  • Male Ring-tailed Lemurs engage in ‘stink fighting’ when in competition for females: they drag their tails through their strong-scent secreting glands, and then waft their tails at each other.
  • Pronghorn Antelope have a lot of adaptations for speed and agility, including a large heart and lungs, light bones and shock-absorbent hooves.
  • When threatened, Chinese Pangolins will curl up into a tight ball, relying on their tough scales to protect themselves.
  • Mandrills have large cheek pouches that they store food in, often hiding food from their group mates to eat it in peace later.
  • Himalayan Brown Bears come down to lower elevations in autumn to eat fruit and wheat before they go into hibernation.

That's all for this month! Make sure you keep visiting the forums and our social media pages to keep up to date with all the latest news, but don't worry if you miss anything - we'll be back next month with another Monthly Catch Up! See you soon!

Another fantastic roundup, look at all of that beautiful conservation messaging and celebration! I love seeing the celebration of wildlife, zoos and conservation in Planet Zoo and its community. Looking forward to future updates and DLC, and very grateful for more time to play and the hard work of the Planet Zoo team. Congratulations on the Webby Award, very well deserved!

Hi, I am writing to you with a question because in the sandbox version, when we give them immortal animals, when the predator attacks the animal, death abimation is shown, but the animal is still alive because the death icon is not displayed and the predator cannot eat if it is this is the intended effect, or bug, if the bug will be corrected in the future

Intended effect as the animals are immortal.
