Planet Zoo Predictions

I made a 2023 Bold Predictions thread in the past, but now I’m making a more general predictions for Planet Zoo (or planet zoo 2) thread for all of us to enjoy. So post your bold (or not so bold) predictions below!

I’ll start:

I believe we’ll get another NWM before support of PZ1 ends
This next pack is not our last and will be a biome or region pack.
PZ2’s main selling point will be birds, aquatics, and improved animal behavior. Besides that the game will be pretty similar
All animals from PZ1 will eventually be in PZ2 (not at launch though unfortunately)

  • Console players will get news about the Barnyard and Zookeeper Animal Packs next week
    • These 2 DLC packs will be available in a bundle together sometime later in the year
  • The final DLC pack will be in the last half of 2025
    • The final DLC pack will simultaneously release on consoles and PC, being bundled with the Americas Animal Pack on consoles
  • Walkthrough Exhibit birds and Exhibit fish will not be seen until Planet Zoo 2
    • Frontier will go bankrupt before Planet Zoo 2 releases

Ouch bleak, but realistic

I disagree - I think JWE3 will be their saving grace, followed by PZ2 whenever that comes.

I predict our final DLC will include the coati.
I agree with these takes. I think JWE3 needs to be great and that’s why we haven’t heard much about it and they’re taking their time. It seems like Frontier’s true success is animal based cms games, especially with the dip PC2 has faced

A coupel more bleak predictions

-Whatever the next packs theme is, the roster probably wont be what most people on here would agree on as the general consensus.
-There will be one especially glaring missing animal
-There will be one or two animals again where frontier fumbled a bit on the model.

If this one is bleak or not depends on who you are tho.
- To boost sales they will include more casually popular animals, so prepare for another 3 spots for cats/dogs

Ugh no more cats or dogs. And I say this as someone wit two canids in my top 10 mammal wants lol
Yea only canid I would outright love at this point is Tanuki. Bush dog was one of my last wants. Jackals, Ethiopian Wolves, and red wolves (cause I’m biased) would be neat but not necessary

Cats though I’m also fine with but Jaguarundi, Fishing Cat and Serval would all be nice to have

Yeah, for canids, Bat Eared Fox and a Jackal would be great, but I'm really more than okay with not getting them in favor of getting something more unique.

Meanwhile outside of the Asiatic Lion, there isn't a single feline I want at all now.

May I know the meaning of "last half of 2025"?

Not sure if this is a prediction so much as “this is what they should do”…. Honestly it’s pretty 50/50:

Planet Zoo 2 will take much longer to make than Planer Coaster 2– and it will include birds, fully aquatic animals, AND extinct animals, (though probably not dinosaurs) to make sure it really sells well. It’ll be the culmination of everything Frontier’s learned from the Planet Games and JWE games.

Or they’ll go bankrupt idk

Speaking of Walkthrough Exhibit birds, what about hornbills and birds of prey?

I don't know if extinct animals will be included, but if they are I expect them to only be part of dlc's entirely focused on them. I think some people would really dislike this idea and not want to have to pay for content they don't want in the game.
On the other hand, with Barnyard already being part of PZ1, I think PZ2 might include more domesticated animals in the base game.

Then there have to be a separate game featuring zoos for a lot of extinct ones (at least 50 to/or 100) like dinosaurs, mammoths and dodos. There's already Prehistoric Kingdom being like that but of different developer. Jurassic World Evolution was Frontier Development game too but creatures there had inaccurate body parts so the other zoo game will/could have accurate ways.
