Horizons Planetary Weirdness

Scratchin' ma head over this.

Landed my ship outside a port. Made sure there was no warnings about trespass etc. Decided not to dismiss the ship since I was still in the No Fire Zone. Went for a drive. Was just checking stuff out, didn't shoot a thing. Suddenly I get a message that the ship is being attacked, before I turn around it's been destroyed.

I rush back and it looks like a Goliath has taken offence to my ship and destroyed it. I check my transactions and discover I've picked up a bounty. I'm wanted but the local Goliaths don't seem to care.

I wander around for a while before I decide to self destruct.

Starting back in my ship I don't have any bounties, dormant or otherwise. I'm down a rebuy and I can't figure out why.

Can someone offer an explanation as to what happened?

Did you park in his spot?

In cases like this I would really like that you didn't have to self destruct.
You should be able to get to a base to get a new ship or be picked up by someone to be taken to a port/station.

Hmm, I wonder... If your ship gets destroyed while you're in the SRV, and you are near a spaceport - can you still dock?

No idea. Is that a thing? Do wandering Skimmers get upset if you park in their patrol route? Sounds like critical, need to know information.

Wonder no more! You can't dock, you don't even get the option to contact the station. I thought I'd be able to request docking to activate the rebuy, but no. I had to commit seppuku before I ran out of fuel. It was an honourable death.
