Plasma Accelerators

Hi all, I am thinking of switching to and using dual Plasmas on my Anaconda. I have not really used them and wanted to know if they are overly difficult to aim or are they manageable? I want something that wouldn't be affected by chaff and can do damage equally to both shields and hull. What should I go for? Efficient weapon or Long range mod? Do people use dazzle shell and target lock breaker? How effective are these experimental mods? I don't do power play so I don't have access to the advanced ones. Any insights anyone has on using the standard ones would be appreciated.

I'm only just getting used to PAs myself, having just installed them on my new Krait II. It seems to me that PAs, like any other fixed weapon, are next-to-useless on a ship with low agility like the Anaconda or T10, unless your targets are as big and lumbering as you are. Engineered thrusters do help, but only help a little.

the FAS was the first ship I was ever able to effectively use PA's in and even then I had to G5 engineer them all with Focused so the shot speed was faster. 3 PA's and a single Burst laser work well on that ship though :)

I use long range plasmas on my FDL. The increased shot speed is really nice and they hit more often than not.

I've been considering switching to focused though. They're not really a long range weapon.

The hammers are good for long range. Rails would do as well.

PvE or PvP?

Comments for PvP consideration:
As Sapyx said, PAs on the conda might not be ideal especially vs medium and small opponents. They will fly circles around you while you struggle to line up your fixed sites.
