Plasma weapons need a faster shots

For me its the opposite tbh. I probably missinterprete the distance tho literally enemy standing right infront of me maybe 5m and it feels like I have to lead 2m to hit him when moving slow
It sounds silly, but try at longer ranges? I noticed enemies tend to duck and weave a lot more as you get closer, and they become more predictable and try to facetank your shots from over 10m away.
 
Except that the only really valid plasma weapon is the Shotgun. I am not asking for damage buff anyways I am asking for a usable mid range auto weapon

Disagree. I've been using nothing but the Oppressor (G3) with my Maverick loadout and I find it to be fine - with no attachments yet. And to be fair, we know very little about the potential for attachments - we know there is increased aim stability, increased range, and increased head shot damage, but know very little about these effects. Who knows if there will be an attachment similar to focused for ship based plasma weapons.

I got a pre-engineered one with stowed reloading that's honestly more convenient than I thought, especially what with how stowing weapons before you move your arms an inch to complete the reload animation somehow un-reloads your weapons.

Tbh if there was an attachment that increases bullet speed I would be fine too
 
As much as I like Plasma weaponry in Odyssey all 3 guns are hardly useful. Like I get it they dont have damge drawbacks like laser or kinetic but its almost impossible to hit moving targets with those weapons. It doesnt need to be much faster but at least fast enough so you can hit medium range targets with the Automatic and for the Sniper enough to hit long range targets.

Oh and I am fairly sure a gun with which it is impossible to hit moving targets would never enter service anywhere not even in a fictious game universe
I'm literally using nothing but the Plasma Pistol (RP, yayyyy) and have completed CZ's, on my own, without dying, with it. It's currently only G2 with no engineering!
Sounds like you need some practice (leading targets and estimating Distance vs Projectile speed.........)

There might be? As a community, we know very little about what is possible. Check out Inara - there is picture developing. Slowly.
It's entirely possible that the long range mod might mirror that for ship weapons and also increase shot speed, but I haven't seen a consensus on that yet.
 
There is a lot of dunking on OP in this post and hyperbole in this thread. The weapons don't need to be OP they need to function better in their intended role. The shotgun and pistol are fine but the rifle and long range rifles projectile speed is so low that shooting a moving target at mid and long range isn't feasible. Especially long. More often I miss with the sniper because they change direction or crouch. It's not about getting better it that the projectile is so abysmally slow that random variance afffects it too much. Outside of CQC plasma will never outmatch G+ kin/laser combos, which is fine so long as they are still usable. The plasma damage isn't bad when upgraded you jut need to be able to hit. A simple speed increase would go a long way to keep them valid.

Well, let's get out there, unlock the engineers, and field test the new attachments! There's still more engineers & attachments to be discovered.
 
9 Engineers and all mods are known. Greater range is likely not projectile speed.

And the question is what do we need extra range if the rifle is already almost useless at higher ranges.

It would be helpful if it could kill with one shot. Then I would use it for assassination mission.

Bit off topic but I've had my eye on a P-15 with both suppressor mods and increased headshot damage. Dome your target and bolt, just like in Watch Dogs.

Just gonna open this up again since we now see more weapon stats so and compared to Laser Plasma does less damage, has lower bullet velocity etc etc. Basically just user laser G5 and you would be def better off than with Plasma G5 it seems

And the supposedly higher effictive range than the Eclipse for the Oppressor makes me wonder how effective range is determined because with the bullet velocity I wouldnt say effective range is higher for the oppressor still.

Dont compare apples are oranges. Look at suit resistances for example and remember shield resistances are different. You can shoot forever with a laser without hurting my armour. or forever with kinetic without breaking my shield.

Doesnt change the fact that the Oppresor is not OP nor will be OP if velocity is changed nor the fact that the effective range is not 35m but lower due to bullet velocity. Hell I dont want the plasma bullet velocity twice as fast as it is now. Again 50% faster max maybe only 33% but right now it feels simply to slow especially with the effective range in mind

I wonderstand you want the best of everything in a single weapon. You just cant have it.
