Title: All we want is peace
Description:
The Independents of LFT 133 have been making strenuous efforts to expand in to the Teshub system.
The lone planet in the system is a natural paradise which was first discovered by an ancestor of Commander Kerrash in 2276, when his FSD drive malfunctioned and he was forced to make a crash landing on the planet.
A pirate clan, known as the 'Ronin of Amarak', has set its sights on the system and are attempting to take it over. Whilst this does present the new pilots with plenty of target practice, the causality rate is starting to increase. Local authorities are raising a 'call to arms' to help bring the system back to a state of peace.
Stabilizing the system will bring the potential of a new station in the system and it will send a strong message that the Pilot Federation will defend its pilots wherever they are.

Title: Fustration on the Frontier!
Description: Several commanders were recently spotted ramming the Christopher Mines outpost in Kalana but they managed to boost away before the system authorities could apprehend them. When the outpost management was questioned they explained that prior to the incident one of the group had requested access to the station's ventilation system to recover an item that they claimed had fallen into one of the vents following a cargo hatch malfunction.
GalNet tracked down commanders Ratking15, Red Wizzard and Wishblend who explained that they had been carrying an Unknown Artefact that was suspected to have been stolen from a Federation Military Convoy. These items are known to degrade ship components and when the cargo hatch malfunctioned and the object fell into the ventilation system the commanders immediately contacted the outpost authorities to seek to recover the item, not wishing to expose the outpost to the artefacts unusual radiation. But they refused to tell the management what it was as no one knows what it was still and in fear of them refusing to let them undock so the Federation could apprehend them.
When the request was denied they were left no choice but to tactically but in a fustrated fashion ram the outpost until the vent cover detached and they could recover the Unknown Artefact. Once it had been recovered they left the system immediately as security forces closed in on them. The commanders apologised to the Christopher Mines outpost regretting any damage caused but the outpost has yet to comment.

Cool story and nice vid on YouTube very amusing!![]()
This isn't an actual news item per se that I have to propose, but more like a journalistic challenge. (And I don't know where else to propose this to the Galnet team)
Currently there's quite a few senators, famous and infamous characters that the media follows in the empire (makes sense, royalty attracts paparazzis). But there are less famous figures on the federal and alliance side of things. The public would benefit from knowing a bit more about the alliance and federal power brokers.
For instance, how about an update on the alliance workings, since they're still working out kinks on the treaties that unite their system? Maybe a popular politician is trying to take credit for the alliance successes around Lave, builds some media cred through that?
On the federal side of things, it seems some expansionists were remarkably sneaky in the last hundred year or two. I see systems that are under federal control within two jumps of Achenar, which would worry many imperial citizens in the light of the cold war boiling up a bit. Historically, how did that happen? What if reporters were to dig up dirt and unearth some discreet federal power brokers or corporation heads with a hidden anti-imperial expansion agenda? Folks trying to stay out of the spotlight of course... This would give the community a federal mirror-figure (or two) to Senator Patreus perhaps? (And maybe help his credibility, he can't be the only warmonger in the galaxy)
Just a friendly proposal to put some media spotlight on new faces, good and bad. Alliance and Federation. Good job galnet team btw.
The media drives a culture of celebrity. Top ranking politicians, social commentators, entertainers and super-rich all command a great deal of media attention. This provides a massive distraction for the populace, to the extent that foreign wars conducted by the Federation on their behalf get little media attention.

Barnard's star - Diplomats and representatives stand for peace
Representatives from all over space arrived today in Barnard's Star. Lance Dion-Tanaka from princess Aisling's Angels prepared a newsroom that was joined by an eclectic who's who: famous LiquidCatnip of EIC, FatHaggard of the federal Merchant Marines and Rhea of the independent Black Fleet joined the impromptu diplomatic meet.
Their statement on the news: "We come pay our respects for the loss of your president, and in these trying times to extend a peaceable hand to reassure federation citizens that no ill will is intended by its neighbors. That current troubles need not be premise to undesirable conflict. We commend lady Winters in her swift action towards maintaining order and wish her the best of luck."
The Empire contingent had few comments about Hudson's suggestion of Imperial involvement: "A baseless assertion undoubtedly motivated by grief. There is simply no motive or evidence to support it."
