Waiting for next Buckyball Race.
CMDR Jane Turner said:We would be willing to assist your expansion amitions from Manite, subject to a non-aggression pact and the guarantee that XYZ Black fleet is kept away. We happily assisted in a similar enterprise to build a new space station in a previously inhabited system in a cooperative venture with the Mercs of Mikunn
CMDR Sloan Kettering said:How can we make ourselves any clearer? Any proposal that does not include CI leaving Manite is unacceptable to us. This is how diplomacy works: The strong have leverage, the weak do not. We have demonstrated the vast superiority in comabt of our pilots. We will not budge on the Manite point because we do not have to. We are willing to offer concessions in return but you have rejected our overtures. CI in Manite is over. If you continue with your current stance we are eager to escalate things further. The only acceptable outcomes to us are you leaving Manite.
CMDR Jane Turner said:Its a great pity you have taken this intractable stance, there are good candidates for terraforming in the surrounding systems that would have been a great joint goal.
LittleJP said:Let's get this party started. I have a fully kitted out FDL, Let's roll.
We are, but not everything gets used.

In the beginning of June 3301, major "players" of the galaxy began to coalesce their forces, seemingly anticipating the others plans. Soon these "Powers", as they're called now, asked for more support from independent pilots. Many rallied to their calls, aligning with whomever they agreed with the most or had offered the most. In only a few weeks these independents helped spread the influence of these powers by hundreds of light-years.
Each side vied for more wealth and influence than the other and small skirmishes soon broke out. Some even saw like minded commanders come to blows before any cease-fires could be arranged. These mercenaries and loyalists were zealous with their charges.
Thinking ahead, a collective of commanders known as "Lavigny's Legion" decided to push Arissa Lavigny-Duval's influence into an area of space surrounded by independents and near Federation territory, providing a very useful strategic Forward Operating Station.
This system is known as Pancienses. The operation is known as "Operation Key."
At first the push went unnoticed. Over one hundred pilots helped to deliver Imperial reports to Pancienses, claiming the system was under a corrupt government. Federals were busy fighting the Alliance and each other, giving Empire commanders plenty of space to do as they pleased. Many Federals even shrugged off the notion of staving off the Lavigny supporters from Pancienses. Only as the Imperials urged the local minority into war against the then dominant corporation, Social Pancienses Future, did outsiders begin to take notice. Several independent commanders who lived nearby realized the dire situation and informed others of the threat this Forward Operating Station would pose to everyone.
This group of mercenary commanders call themselves the Independent Pilots Consortium, or IPC. Fearing that the Imperial presence would bring turmoil to their home system of Mandhrithar, an independent system only about 35 light-years from Pancienses, it was decided to oppose the expansion. Some other groups offered to spare a few forces and more began to spread the word. Members of the IPC began to collect as much intel as possible while trying to raise awareness of the situation. As the Federals and Alliance realized the risk that the station posed, they refocused their attention from each other and attempted to undermine several systems that Empire Powers were trying to expand their influence to, including systems such as Pancienses and Haroingori. At the same time, Imperials were making moves of their own, signing treaties and calling for all available pilots to report to Pancienses.
The fighting started out slow, but soon pilots from all over the cluster began to flock to Pancienses. Lavigny's Legion was crucial to maintaining a strong organization of Imperial forces, with most of the Imperial pilots flying in wings together; as the combat grew more intense they were determined to stick closer together to support each other and you could even see as many as four or five wings of Lavigny forces patrolling the system. On the other hand, opposition was not getting nearly as much support. Occasional Federal and Alliance wings, such as Dark Echo and Adle's Armada, would fly down but they were also needed at home and elsewhere and therefore could not spend as much time in Pancienses as the otherwise uncontested Empire.
As days went on, thousands and thousands of ships were destroyed, making it one of the bloodiest systems in the region. Imperial Support ships and Shield of Justice members were hunted and destroyed to try to curb the tide but over the weekend a large contingent of Imperial pilots made huge gains in their fight against the system authorities, making it seem almost impossible for the independents to win. Efforts remained but it became increasingly more obvious that the battle was over and the Imperials had won. The outnumbered independent & Federal pilots could only do so much with their hit & run tactics against the Imperial fleets.
During this same time, Zemina Torval took control of a system only about 60 light-years apart from Pancienses. This system is known as Haroingori and will act as a FOS for Torval supporters. It seems the Empire has already drawn the proverbial line in the sand, establishing a front line far from their home-worlds. How these systems will stand the test of time and battle remains to be seen, but it is likely that the area will remain a hotly contested and bloody region for the foreseeable future. The mercenaries of the IPC claim no allegiance to any of the major factions and how they will respond now that they are surrounded by several Empire Powers has not been revealed at this time.

Title: Li Yong-Rui and Arissa Lavigny-Duval Open Embassies
In a press release issued to GalNet this morning, Commanders of the Pilots' Federation
affiliated with both Sirius Corporation and Princess Arissa Lavigny-Duval have announced
the completion of discussions leading towards the imminent preparation of embassies near
each power's territory.
The systems to be used for this trial run are Sietae and Heverduduna. Sietae will
allow Sirius Corporation to obtain a substantial increase on Bounty Hunting income.
Heverduduna will allow Sirius Corporation to gain access to the Imperial Clipper, an asset still
missing from their portfolio. In return, Sirius Corporation's scale will allow substantial
shipyard and outfitting rebates to Commanders aligned to Arissa Lavigny-Duval.
Should this investment be profitable to the Corporation, a well-informed employee of the
Corporation has told GalNet that Sirius will extend the offer of cooperation
to all interested parties.

CMDR Mozaik here, admin/'council member' for the Lavigny's Legion player group. I brokered this deal with the moderators of the amorphous meritocratic entity that is the Li Yong-Rui subreddit. Their subreddit seems generally in favor, and our Legionaries are chomping at the bit to get easy access to those discounts.
