Interns at the Office of Alliance Statistics, tasked with finding interesting statistics from all over the galaxy, stumbled across a rather large chink in the Imperial Princess Aisling Duval's image today.

After wading through several months worth of shipping manifestos, the OAS interns realised just how the Imperial Princess keeps a firm grip on certain parts of her political sphere. The Imperial Princess' people have quite literally flooded the halls of the small mining outpost Dilworth Stop in Aurawala with propaganda material.

Dilworth Stop has a permanent population of 1,718 people, and this week alone the Imperial Princess' supporters have delivered a staggering 6,553 tons of propaganda material to the station. That works out to 3,814 kg per person.

If you think you have problems with junk mail, just be glad you do not live in Aurawala.

Recently out on the fringe of inhabited space, a small colony has been expanding into neighbouring systems to help build a supply and demand chain of systems for self sufficiency... Starting off in the small industrial system of Paesia, with its rich mining resources and neighbouring extraction, high tech and refinery systems, the future of Paseia looks bright. In the last few months Paesia Future has successfully expanded into Assiones, Nadur, Khan Gubii and is continuing to expand into further neighbouring systems which offer further benefits to the expansion plan.

Many pilots have taken part in assisting Paesia Future to expand, a long civil war in Assiones was fought and finally that system is now under the stable control of Paesia Future, Peaceful resolutions have been sought after where possible and so far Nadur has allowed itself to be peacefully dominated by the trading prowess of the Paesia Future expansion board but has not yielded control of their system.

Khan Gubii pirates have recently taken over the Command and Control center of Alpers City although they have no influence in the system and due to the fortifications of the CnC area, it has been impossible to dislodge them. Although the Paesia Future diplomats at the station hope for a peaceful resolution to the crisis, the exits to C&C are surrounded with troops who are patiently waiting for orders to storm the Control Centre.

Paesia Future holds a strong influence in the surrounding systems and this pilot hopes they continue to spread the values of the Federation along with their successful expansion. Any pilots looking for credit earning opportunities should head over to the surrounding areas as there are a large variety of missions on offer for the right pilots.

Deep within the troubled Pegasi sector there is one truth which has remained constant over the past few months. Narcotics. Wherever The Kumo Crew guard the space ways whole planetary economies are developing around this often illegal trade. Pirates, traders, workers and political leaders have been known to openly use these drugs. Some argue it is for medicinal purposes others employ it for relaxation. Still others point at the Federation and the Empire with a belief that those powers made the right choice in outlawing their use.

The long term affects of systems being drenched in this trade is still to be seen. Psychologists and social engineers have sounded some alarms while popular movements hail them as a godsend to relieve the populace of their daily drudgery. Archon was unavailable for comment. As the boom continues economists will examine the financial markets to see if it spurs any further growth of other commodities while the Empire does its best to shut the entire black market down.

Last month Archon Delaine’s aggressive expansion toward Imperial territory was halted. Defensive lines along the Imperial border have held strong as the expeditionary forces of Operation Davy Jones were joined by detachments of the Imperial Fleet. Many in the Empire now refer to the escalating conflict as the "Pegasi Pirate War."


Tens of thousands of ships throughout the Pegasi Sector have been impounded or destroyed in an attempt to weed the pirates out of hundreds of systems. Vastly outnumbered, Archon’s forces have employed asymmetric tactics, effectively denying decisive battles. Sieges of systems, such as Ngam, have been repeatedly broken by the Empire and relaid by the Kumo Crew. Tacticians on either side have yet to produce an advantage in this war of attrition.


One thing remains clear through the fog of war: the struggle to liberate or dominate the Pegasi Sector is far from over.

Breaking news coming out of the Hel system today, a two month long battle over the future of the Hel system has ended today as the Federally aligned justice seeking militia group known as Adle's Armada defeats the arms dealer Grimnir Allvadderung known to be backed by the criminal organization known as the Cosmic State and is now in complete control of the system and its starport. The Armada had received intelligence of an illegal arms deal within the Hel sector between CEO Allvadderung and the leader of the Emperor's Grace, Vaarwen Mako Brennus that was taking food out of local residents' mouth and forcing them into slave labor in order to fill the massive orders of illegal weapons shipments.

Upon arrival, Adle's Armada was vastly outnumbered by several different criminal organizations as well as various Imperial groups looking to back the arms deal. In a last ditch effort to overpower the opposition, Armada leader Tyllerious Adle III struck a deal with a small Federal faction known as the "Labour of Caill Reddi" which at the time only held 1% influence in the system to aid them in supplies from the nearby system of Caill Reddi. The battle was waged over Hel and the neighboring system of Lie You Kou for several months, both sides losing ground and gaining it back within a few days. Eventually Adle's Armada ground forces were able to infiltrate Hel's starport, Jones Orbital and finished off all of CEO Allvadderung's remaining fighters. In true Federal fashion, a Democratic election lasting three days was put forth for all minor factions in Hel to vote on, resulting in an overwhelming success for the Labour of Caill Reddi. In commemoration for supporting the future and safety of Hel, plans are in progress to rename Jones Orbital to "Adle's Bastion" to remind all that there is some justice in this Galaxy. As for Grimnir Allvadderung, he is aboard the Armada's prison ship SSV Night Fury en route to Sol for questioning.

Adle's Armada has set up their new headquarters in the area surrounding Hel, backing the Labour of Caill Reddi and looks to expand its own form of Federal influence from there. "There is no room in Hel for criminals, only hard working citizens under a democratically elected government." says Tyllerious Adle III.

Reports are coming in from throughout the Pegasi sector of scores of marked slaves being rescued by Imperial Commanders participating in the United Offensive. Acting in concert with members of Sirius Corporation, Imperial Commanders are carefully extracting human trafficking cargo from Kumo Crew vessels. That cargo is then being delivered to Sirius Corp. Commanders who fly them to safety for relocation. Unconfirmed rumors indicate that members of the Utopians are also joining the rescue and relocation efforts.

Spokesmen for the Kumo Crew vehemently deny that Marked Slaves are anything but common criminals and degenerates but one prominent case is making the rounds on media circuits. Known only by her first name for her own protection, Imperial Slave Aasha has become the face of the United Offensive. "Imagine my surprise when I woke up from stasis in Comanga surrounded by pirates!" Aasha originally entered a 2 year Imperial Slavery contract as part of the Quivira settlement with Silver Universal PLC. "I thought it was the right thing to do," states Aasha, "I was a trained mechanical engineer and could fetch a shorter term than any anyone else in my family. Just before putting me back in stasis for transport to Harma, the priates said that's what made me so valuable."

The Imperial Slavers Associated reiterated their previously stated opposition to transporting any slaves outside the Empire. They added that any Imperial Slave rescued from the Kumo Crew or any other violation of their Terms of Service Agreement would result in that slave's contract being rendered null and void.

"I don't know the Commander that saved me," a tearful Aasha explained, "but I am so thankful to him or her and the friendly folks at Sirius who helped me get to the relocation authority on Munshin."

Unfortunately,it would appear that the nearby system of Lambda 1 Tucanae regularly receives more than ten times its assigned quota of materials. ‘This is ridiculous!’ said Mr D. Gusted of Jones Dock. ‘The disposal chute is getting more backed up every day. The postman was bent double bringing a dozen copies of everything just to the first corridor on his route, even in microgravity. I honestly think he preferred it when he was a slave!’

Concerns have been raised about environmental damage on L-Tuc-A5, which now has thousands of tonnes of rubbish incinerated in its atmosphere every week.

‘It is a shame that synthesised paper must be used and we are sensitive to concerns about this,’ said Lady Michelle Williams-Massey of Aisling Media. ‘Unfortunately, electronic communications are too easily ignored or lost in the junk filters. Even in the thirty-fourth century, there is no substitute for physical media.




‘I have heard conspiracy theories that neuro-active chemicals are being absorbed from the paper through skin and increasing suggestibility. That is patently ridiculous. The toxic grammar and spelling in some of the programme material, however, is another matter. I counted seven uses of the grocer’s apostrophe alone in yesterday’s audit, sent directly to impressionable minds. Shipping should be suspended until this is resolved.’

Lazy delivery pilots are blamed for the excess material; efforts to correct prose are ongoing.

Title - The Apalar Dilemma

With the recent declaration of Operation Davy Jones transforming into the Pegasi Pirate War, it is conspicuous that the expended effort on the extermination of pirates in the Pegasi Sector outlived its predicted brevity. However, along with the transformation comes a focal point, perhaps the precursor of disaster carrying the name of Apalar.

Strangely, Governor Jordan, the representative of the Apalar system stated no power of preference as it calls out for aid: “Our system is bordered by the territories of Archon Delaine, Zachary Hudson, Zemina Torval and Denton Patrius. Surely these individuals can understand the benefit of having an independent high tech system on their doorstep?”

Imperial Commanders have expressed their urgent will to "rescue" Apalar from the possible possession by Archon Delaine through taking it under Imperial control. Though, there are opposition voicing the concern of dragging Apalar into the ongoing conflict rings contrary to the system's need of peace and prosperity.

On the other hand, Some believe that Apalar will perpetually remain the eye of the storm. A few pilots of the Kumo Crew express that, while there is currently no intention nor gain for the crew to take control of Apalar due to its meager income, the situation will turn quite unsightly if a faction does attempt to take Apalar under its control for its proximity to the territory of Archon Delaine.

Strategists and diplomats in both the Empire and the Kumo Crew are scrambling in contemplating how to properly handle the issue at hand. Many believe that it will be symbolic of the extended tension between the Empire and the Kumo Crew, while a minority hopes that it will be the first step toward a possible compromise between the two factions due to the inevitable casualties of an escalated war.

This expansion effort, with the blessing of the Sirius Gov and the local Sothis Commanders pledged to Sirius, was carried out by a humble Science and Exploration Task Force who have so far chosen to go unnamed. Utopia continually seeks bold explorers.

Utopian Enforcers intend to bring law, order and justice to the frontier; freeing it from criminals, antisocial trade, detrimental practices and the unknown threats that lurk in deep space.

Non-violent dissidents will be transported hundreds of light years to the Utopian headquarters system of Polevnic for fair trial, again, at the expense of Utopia.

EDIT : My first attempt is a fail, I couldn't connect to the game for the whole day, so I wrote this thinking Hudson expanded in Bhotho, (For my defense I quit the game only 2 hours before cycle's end, and the scores were 790% vs. only 300% for opposition.) I'm embarassed now. Anyways sorry.

- Description : A new Gang recently appeared in the Kakas System, near the
Federation border. Led by a commander calling himself "LeBoucanier", and
rumored to be affiliated to the Kumo Crew, it is officially a trade union
named "Kakas shipping syndicate.”
Investigators discovered its most valuable routes were between Kakas, and
the notorious Kumo run space. Even so, it has been impossible to determine
if goods are legal or not.


LeBoucanier and his partners arrived to help the heads of the Purple Mafia,
who were in a struggle with authorities. Since then, mafia activities have
gown and the rate of criminal activities increased. With the recent
expansion of the Federation into Bhotho, Kakas is now under new
jurisdiction. Due to President Hudson's hatred towards crime syndicates,
inhabitants hope the criminal element will finally disappear.


Many traders however, are scared by this new government. They are used to
few rules and will now face Federation taxation and custom duties.
We asked "LeBoucanier" what he thinks about these recent events :
"I am mostly concerned about economic growth. We all know about the Federation's
prohibitive taxation. More control means more delay in the shipping of
goods. Here, in Kakas, there's a high demand of meat and it's perishable.
We have to rework trade routes which means more time to work, and less
pay."

Mavia Kain, the High Inquisitor and leader of Imperial Inquisition is scheduled to pay a visit to Admiral Varrwen Mako Brennus, leader of Emperor`s Grace. The meeting will be held in the Emperor's Grace stronghold of Rishair at Lindblad Port. Both leaders will discuss a number of Imperial issues, including the assassination of Emperor Duval and the present military operations in the Pegasi sector.

Rumours about the two groups co-operation have been circulating since the start of the United Imperial Offensive in the Pegasi sector. Both factions are presently engaged in a peacekeeping operation against the Kumo Crew, which started when Archon Delaine decided to illegally invade Imperial space and seize Imperial citizens into slavery. Emperor`s Grace and Imperial Inquisition pilots are fighting together against this notorious crime lord, as both groups see him as a threat to galactic peace.

Sources close to Admiral Brennus revealed that the factions share the same traditional Imperial values. A senior official noted that "we jointly care about the Empire, we care about our Imperial way of life, we care about Imperial citizens. We are natural allies. The Empire is going through tough times, we need to support each other."

It is often claimed that Grimnir Allvadderung is an affable man and many misconstrue this trait for weakness. Recently the CEO of Hammer Arms spoke to journalists on what should have been a joyous occasion, when Grimnir Allvadderung attended the Imperial Wedding on Capitol in the Achenar system, as a guest of Vaarwen Mako Brennus. While Admiral Brennus was addressing Imperial matters of State, following the murder of Emperor Hengist Duval, Grimnir Allvadderung received disturbing news from the Hel system, where a Federation foray had caused confusion and widespread, albeit unsubstantiated reports, that Grimnir Allvadderung had been arrested by a Federal militia.

Standing before reporters, the very much unrestrained Grimnir Allvadderung burst into a huge guffaw, exclaiming that the Federation aligned militia had enacted a coup but in their over enthusiasm, had failed to follow local news reports broadcast on Hel, showing Grimnir Allvadderung being entertained by the creme of Imperial society.

When asked what had befallen the population of Hel, who are presently confined to their homes by the Federation aligned militia, Grimnir Allvadderung replied "they are not a legitimate military force but simply a bunch of opportunist pirates who will face a terrible judgement". He added that "the great enterprise between Hammer Arms and Emperor's Grace does not hinge on possession of the Hel system. This enterprise has already progressed to the production stage in Arugua, protected by Emperor's Grace. As for those criminals who are mistreating my people I swear that Cosmic State shall show no mercy and we shall hunt down every brigand who dares to breath the air of our home. Their demise shall be slow, so they may suffer all the more and any who we capture, we shall make them pray to the gods for a swift release".

Utopia opens its first deep space commune in Takura

Foothold Orbital is one of the Sirius Corporation's deep space terraforming stations in the Takurua system and is a bustling hive of industry that houses a hundred thousand skilled workers going about the mammoth task of rendering alien worlds habitable to human life. Isolated and unremarkable, Takurua found itself the focus of everyone's attention with the announcement that the Utopia movement would be opening a large commune in the system, after an intense media and lobbying campaign.


Utopia futurologist and project lead Dr Saeed McNamara disembarked from his Orca starliner at the station this morning, shadowed by half a dozen attendants - shaven-headed young men and women, all apparently plugged into Utopia's state of the art, portable sim rigs. Our reporter Julie Gao was on the scene to interview Dr McNamara upon his arrival.


"I can't tell you how exciting it is to set foot on the site of our first deep space commune!" he beamed "It's such a privilege to stand before a grand, pristine canvas and start to build a glorious new society in splendid isolation."


"Pure. Perfect. Uncontaminated by obsolete ideologies." his attendants said in unison.


"Uh, well, quite." McNamara continued. "We won't be interfering with the Sirius Corporation's cartography or terraforming efforts, of course, and we're not here to poach personnel, we have plenty of qualified people back in the core systems who are as excited about this opportunity as I am. Although of course, we do believe in sharing our technology, and we'd be more than happy to lend our expertise if management is agreeable."


"All come to see the light in time." said his attendants


"Yes, well. As I say, we're excited to continue our long tradition of cooperation and support with the Sirius Corporation, and we're sure that by working in harmony, we become so much more than the sum of our parts. It was lovely to meet you, Julie, but I'm afraid you'll have to excuse us. We have much to do."


"Much." repeated the attendants


We interviewed Sirius Corporation assistant exogeologist Joel Eriksson about what he thought about the presence of the latest Utopia commune on Takurua.


"It's... ah... certainly a surprise that they'd be interested in our station. Don't get me wrong, it's very welcome, it's just... I'm not sure why they'd go to all the expense and trouble. But I'm glad they did! Some of the technology they've brought, it's just incredible -it's like something from the future! And the sims, I always thought they were just games teenagers played, but... god, it's like actually being someone else, you feel and understand things completely differently, it's like... it's like..."


At this point he trailed off, and stared out of an observation port for a few seconds. "Have you ever felt like you've wasted your life?"
